Airbnb's Newest Icon Property Is a Life-Sized Polly Pocket Compact

The Barbie craze has come and (not quite) gone, but there’s no end to the ’90s nostalgia that it helped spark. If you missed the opportunity to stay in Barbie’s iconic Malibu DreamHouse, or are just looking for another chance to reconnect with one of your favorite childhood toys, the perfect opportunity is waiting for you. Starting on August 21, guests will have the chance to once again stay at the home of a beloved doll when they head to Littleton, Massachusetts, where they can step into the world of Polly Pocket. The vintage Slumber Party Fun compact has been turned into a larger-than-life-sized home, fit for up to four guests to spend the night. The spectacular 42-foot-tall property is an almost-perfect depiction of one of Polly's first homes (who actually debuted in 1989, but who's counting), and will certainly be one of the most unique Airbnbs guests could imagine staying in.

Upon arrival, guests are promptly greeted by Polly’s friends before they’re whisked away to indulge in a day of trying on Polly’s clothes, eating ’90s-inspired snacks, and getting glammed-up at her vanity. At nightfall, enjoy some room-temperature bites from the “fridge,” and kick back in the living room with some popcorn and a movie. Once you’re ready for bed, you can either spend the night on the pull-out couch in the living area, or slip into the life-size Action Park Tent for some camping fun. The tent can accommodate up to four guests on sleeping mats and sleeping bags. Located in a gorgeous clearing surrounded by lush trees, you may be in Littleton, but you’ll feel worlds away from reality. Keep in mind that the two-story compact is always open, so you’ll be spending a lot of your time in the fresh air.

Interested parties have the chance to book one of three one-night stays in this throwback property, to take place September 12–14, 2024, at $89 per person (a nod to the year Polly debuted). When submitting a request to book, you'll answer a question about why you want to go. A random set of potential guests will be chosen, then those answers will be reviewed; Airbnb says it's looking for unique perspectives and connections to the icon.

If you're not selected for one of the overnight stays, you’re not out of luck: Up to 12 guests at a time can spend the day in Polly's life-sized compact from September 18 through October 6. While there, guests can try on vintage looks from the doll’s life-sized closet, make custom charm bracelets, indulge in a snack-filled picnic, and DIY their own hair and nails at Polly’s vanity. Both types of stays will be available to book starting August 21 at 6 a.m. PT. (the day visit costs $35).
