Fall is coming, and warm water and beautiful Bermuda beaches are calling. Travelers will soon have the chance to fly non-stop to Bermuda year-round on start-up BermudAir. And before winter comes, the new airline will be offering its innovative new business class seating, Aisle Class.
Bermuda, a British Overseas Territory, is known for its relaxed lifestyle, sandy beaches, and crystal-clear turquoise waters. The territory is also a business destination due to its focus on international commerce and finance, according to the Bermuda Business Development Agency.
So dig out a pair of Bermuda shorts and prepare for the short, comfy jaunt to the island paradise.
BermudAir launched this week as the first ever Bermuda-based airline with year-round service, serving both leisure and business travelers. The carrier has put tickets on sale for its three non-stop routes from the U.S. East Coast to Bermuda.
The new airline is flying comfortable Embraer E175 regional jets non-stop between Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS); Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), and Westchester County Airport (HPN). To book flights, view flight schedules or obtain more information, visit www.flybermudair.com.
Flights between BDA and BOS will be six days per week, as will flights between BDA and HPN. Those flights are scheduled to begin on August 31. From September 15, service will increase to twice daily between HPN and BDA.
Flights between BDA and FLL will also be 6 days per week and will kick off beginning on September 22.
BermudAir says it will be providing a premium travel option for a journey with average flight times of around two hours. Introductory fares start at $199 USD one way including taxes and fees.
Interestingly, although BermudAir’s Embraer E175 aircraft will begin service with a standard 88-seat configuration, just 44 seats will be sold for each flight. Instead, each seat sold will offer passengers aisle access and plenty of space for carry-on bags, to provide a comfortable and spacious in-flight experience.
All BermudAir flights include free Wi-Fi and entertainment. Each passenger will get at least one complimentary checked bag (or more, depending on fare). On-board service will include freshly prepared light meals, as well as beverage selections from local partners on the island.
The plan to limit the plane’s seating to half of full capacity is a prelude to the company’s going all-business class. Custom-made, innovative seating suites are now scheduled to arrive in November.
When installed, BermudAir’s new layout will usher in what it calls Aisle Class, a unique 30-seat configuration that is billed as “eliminating the aisle vs. window seat

Switzerland, for the second year in a row, topped U.S. News & World Report’s rankings of the world’s best countries, marking its sixth time in the number one spot since 2017. Well known for its stunning mountains, lakes, and valleys—and for the cheese and chocolate from the cows that graze its verdant pasturelands—the Bernese Alps and the Jungfrau Region epitomize Switzerland. Here’s how to visit some of its highlights and experience why Switzerland’s quality of life and cultural influence are consistently ranked so high.
Just getting to – and through – the airport in time for your flight is stressful enough in these post-pandemic days. Then there's the fun of getting on the aircraft – even if you have what's euphemistically called something like "priority boarding."
More than London at the moment, Bristol seems to encapsulate the contradictions, energy and frustrations of the British nation. This city, which straddles the River Avon, is small (the population was just under 500,000 in 2019) but it punches well above its weight when it comes to politics and art. When a group of activists threw the statue of Edward Colston in Bristol harbour in June 2020, it focussed attention on Britain’s historic role in the slave trade. (Colston, who had endowed schools, almshouses and hospitals in Bristol had, in the 17th century, been instrumental in the transportation of at least 84,000 enslaved people during his involvement with the Royal African Company). Nowhere in Britain voted more fervently to remain in Europe (62 per cent versus 38 per cent voting to leave).
The Parlour where afternoon tea is served in the pink, ridged roof cottage at Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa dates back 400 years. This year, the resort, Bermuda’s original cottage colony, celebrates its 100th anniversary as a hotel. But while celebrating its history and continuing traditions (such as its repeat visitors’ plaque including one California couple in residence over 100 times, earning them their own key to the cottage which has been renamed for them), the resort is also breaking out new developments. On the heels of its purchase by Dovetail + Co and complete redesign, a new executive chef took over in July with new, inventive menus due to be unveiled in November.
