United Airlines has postponed a pair of inaugural flights, citing delays by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) following a series of recent safety incidents.
American Airlines To Offer Nonstop Flights From JFK To Tokyo

American Airlines previously announced a new flight service to begin this summer from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport (HND). However, the service was pending the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) review. The service has been approved and will be the only U.S. airline to offer nonstop service between JFK and HND.
Beginning June 28, 2024, flyers can travel nonstop between JFK and HND. Up to three daily flights between New York and Tokyo will operate at different times throughout the day. Here is what the tentative American Airlines schedule looks like:
There are also two other cities that American Airlines operates out of with nonstop flights to HND. There is a daily flight from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), plus two daily flights from Los Angeles (LAX).
Tickets are already on sale for these routes.
Once flyers arrive at HND, they can continue their journey to over 30 destinations thanks to American’s partnership with Japan Airlines.

The joint partnership gives travelers up to 17 flight options from the United States to Japan.
American Airlines has been officially approved to offer service between New York JFK and Tokyo HND. Japan Airlines has partnered with American Airlines to provide further services for travelers. The service is on sale now, with the initial flights to begin in June 2024.
