Everything is bigger in Texas, including American Airlines' network.
The Fort Worth-based carrier announced on Thursday a noteworthy network expansion at its hometown airport, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) that includes increased service on 30 domestic and international routes.
The expanded service touches cities as small as Abilene, Texas, and major metropolitan centers, such as San Francisco and Seattle.

In addition to the U.S.-focused expansion, American is also increasing international service from DFW. The carrier previously announced new service to Barcelona, but other short-haul international routes will now see increased service, such as Los Cabos, Mexico, and San Jose, Costa Rica.
The full international expansion is listed in the table below.
All of the new flight frequencies and schedule changes will be loaded to the airline's timetables over the weekend.
American highlights that this additional service will combine to offer travelers more than 10,000 connecting flight options around the world via DFW.
In total, the carrier expects to fly more than 850 daily departures next summer — a monumental milestone for the airline as it seeks to increase its dominance at DFW (and offer more than 1,000 daily departures from this airport).
For years, American has invested in its largest and possibly most important hub with new flights and added service. The carrier is by far the market leader in DFW, and it seeks to continue boosting its service there to retain its dominance.
Not only does American appeal to the local market, but it also uses DFW as a key connecting airport for travelers looking to travel anywhere around the world.
Just this year, the airline signed a new 10-year lease agreement with the airport authorities to continue growing at its hub.
This agreement covers nearly $5 billion of pre-approved capital investments, including the construction of gate expansions at Terminal A and Terminal C, the construction of a new sixth Terminal F and a major renovation of Terminal C, which currently operates the most daily departures of any terminal at DFW. (Almost all of these new and expanded facilities are earmarked for American's use.)
As part of the renewed lease, American CEO Robert Isom shared that he envisions the airline operating more than 1,000 daily departures from DFW in the coming years.
While that figure might still be a few years off, summer 2024 is shaping up to be a record-setting season for American.
"We're thrilled to offer more seats than ever before to our local and connecting customers at DFW next summer.

Miami and Orlando are the two most visited cities in Florida. Miami is nicknamed the Magic City and known for its white-sand beaches, pastel-hued tropical Art Deco architecture, dynamic nightlife, and Latin vibes. Orlando is home to the Magic Kingdom and the world’s most famous mouse. Until recently, out-of-towners who wanted to experience both sides of the Sunshine State either had to hop a flight between Orlando and Miami and then take a taxi or ride-share to their destination or rent a car, navigate the oft-congested interstate, and endure the hassle of finding (usually pricey) parking during what’s supposed to be a relaxing vacation.
Cairo is a great place to visit for its rich history, vibrant culture, and delicious food. It is home to some of the most iconic landmarks in the world, including the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Visitors can also explore the ancient city of Memphis, the Coptic Cairo, and the Islamic Cairo. Cairo is also a great place to experience Egyptian cuisine, which is known for its bold flavors and fresh ingredients.
South Florida’s Gold Coast is renowned for its blue skies, pristine beaches, and ritzy lifestyle. Anchored by Miami to the south and Palm Beach to the north, this stretch of Atlantic coastline has long been a playground for the rich and famous. Smack dab in the middle of the Gold Coast is Fort Lauderdale. The tropical metropolis is sometimes overlooked for its glitzier neighbors when it comes to vacation locales — the city was once best known as the capital of spring break pilgrimages and, in more recent years, as a popular cruise ship port — but thanks to recent development, a thriving arts and culture community, an evolving culinary scene, and its laid-back vibe, Fort Lauderdale is now one of the state’s must-visit destinations.
