Brother UK, a technology supplier, has determined the best, worst, happiest and cheapest locations in Europe to work remotely.

They analyzed factors such as Wi-Fi speed, cost of an apartment, cost of electricity, safety within the country, and general cost of living. Then, they used a weighted rank to determine an overall remote worker score out of 100.

Squeezed in between Belgium, France, and Germany, Luxembourg’s capital city ranked the best city in Europe for remote working, according to Brother UK. When considering the most sought-after elements for digital nomads, Luxembourg City scored 68/100—the highest of all the destinations surveyed.

Luxembourg City also ranked highly in other metrics related to life outside the office. It posted an impressive quality of life score of 192.9, a high health care index score of 75, and a happiness index score of 7.23, which keeps it in the top ten for that category.

Located in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tuzla is named the cheapest location to live as a remote worker, scoring an impressive 76.29 out of 100. A meal in this European city would set you back a trifling $4.50. A one-bedroom apartment in the city center would cost $225 per month and $170 outside the city center. For an 85m2 apartment, basic bills like electricity, heating, cooling, water and garbage would cost $168 per month, and Wi-Fi would cost £$20.

Coming in fourth overall with a score of 63.84 is Aalborg—a city in Denmark regarded as a vibrant cultural hotspot. A one-way ticket on local transport would only cost $3.50, while a meal and beer totals $22.

On average, electricity, heating and water would cost $215. The city also ranked highly in other metrics; it has one of the highest quality of life index scores of 194.7, a reassuring health care index score of 79.2 and the second-highest happiness index score of all destinations at 7.59.

Despite being known for its eons of history and dubbed the cradle of Western civilization, Athens ranked the worst European city for remote workers, scoring a lowly 50.34 out of 100. Greece’s capital is among the top 15 lowest-ranking European cities in the safety index, scoring just 53. Athens has a poor quality of life index score of 128.6, a health care index score of 57.5, and an uninspiring happiness index score of 5.93.

The largest city in Switzerland, Zurich ranks as the most expensive city for remote working. A meal in this city would cost $28 on average. Regarding living costs, a city center apartment would set you back $2,800, utility bills come to $325, and internet costs are $64.
