Modern updates shine new light on Carmel-By-The-Sea hotel.
CARMEN-BY-THE-SEA, CA – Coachman’s Inn, a boutique hotel from Four Sisters Inns portfolio, ideally located in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea, has unveiled a fresh redesign of all 30 guestrooms as it celebrates its 10th year as a Four Sisters Inn. Inspired by the region’s natural beauty, the newly reimagined guestrooms are bright and inviting, with new custom furniture, curated artwork, contemporary lighting, hardwood flooring, and a coastal-inspired color palette. Newly added in-room comforts enhance the guest experience alongside the inn’s well-known complimentary amenities, including a signature breakfast, afternoon wine hour, and freshly baked cookies.
Under the creative direction of DJT Design, the refresh blends the coastal serenity of Carmel with the inn’s equestrian namesake. Inviting neutral tones are grounded by saddle brown leather accents and timeless textiles. Each guestroom features handcrafted furniture, including a tailored tweed headboard, Alderwood bedside tables, and supple leather chairs. Framed sepia-toned photographs celebrate the history of Carmel alongside curated plein-air paintings of the dramatic coastline by local artist Delia Bradford. Updated in-room amenities include a Tivoli™ Bluetooth audio player, illy® espresso maker, mini-fridge, and microwave. Integrated USB ports have been added to each bedside table, and high-speed WiFi access has been expanded throughout the property. In addition, the Signature Deluxe King and Queen guestrooms feature fully remodeled bathrooms with a spacious walk-in shower, back-lit mirror, and elevated fixtures.
“The improvements at Coachman’s Inn underscore our continued commitment to redefining the boutique inn experience,” said Tamara Mims, president and CEO of Four Sisters Inns. “Coachman’s Inn now joins a long list of reimagined hotels in our collection as we strive to offer elevated and thoughtful experiences in some of the best destinations of California.”
In celebration of the updates, the inn is offering a “Pop the Bubbly” package, available through May 16, 2024. The package includes the following:

While the term “rustic elegance” gets bandied about to the point of cliché, Farmhouse Inn in Sonoma County is its epitome. Rather than a watered-down hybrid of rusticity and elegance, this hotel fully embodies both. (Think heated marble bathroom floors with a view of the chicken coop.)
