Looking for a vacation that lets you ball on a budget? You'll certainly hit your "budget" requirement on Carnival's new Firenze ship — so long as you don't expect to truly ball out.

The Best Time to Visit Lisbon For Beach Trips, Cultural Celebrations, and More

While I am, admittedly, biased as a lover of the city, the best time to visit Lisbon is really any time. The Portuguese capital is a hybrid of activity at all times, with warm temperatures outside even in the winter months, and a seemingly endless list of great hotels and restaurants to visit no matter what month you arrive. Plus, Portuguese warmth and hospitality is a year-round thing, so you can expect a sunny welcome whether it’s July or January.

Delta Announces Exciting New Routes, Including Aruba, Orlando, London, and More

Delta Airlines recently announced the start of new services around the world, including Aruba, London, Orlando, Salt Lake City, and more. Floridians seeking a European getaway will now have an easier route. Travelers will be able to fly from Orlando, Florida, to London's Heathrow Airport directly on Delta. The flight will operate as a seasonal, winter service from October 26, 2024 through March 29, 2025. Delta will operate the flight four times weekly on an Airbus A330-900neo which features the Delta One Suites and Delta Premium Select cabins, according to a release.  This is the latest expansion of Delta's Europe to Florida connection, as the airline previously announced a new route from both Tampa Airport and Orlando Airport to Amsterdam. Amsterdam serves as a major hub for KLM Airlines, which along with Delta, is a partner in the Sky Team Alliance.  “Our new route between Orlando and London seamlessly connects two diverse destinations, offering customers a wealth of experiences on both sides of the Atlantic Floridians can explore London’s historic landmarks like Buckingham Palace and enjoy world-class dining, while Londoners can escape to the sunny beaches and world-famous attractions of Orlando,” Delta’s Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India Matteo Curcio shared in a statement to T+L.  Delta also announced an expansion of flights from the airline’s hub at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport (MSP). The airline will fly its «largest-ever winter Latin schedule» with new flights to Aruba and St. Maarten. The airline will operate new direct flights to Aruba on Friday and Sunday from MSP, and new flights to St. Maarten (SXM) on Thursdays and Saturdays. As part of the updated schedule, the airline increased service to Grand Cayman and San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Delta also shared with T+L that the airline would be expanding service to and from their hub in Salt Lake City, Utah. The airline will also begin a new weekly Saturday-only service from New York's LaGuardia Airport to SLC from December 21, 2024 through May 3, 2025.

Why you should use points and miles to book holiday travel

Holidays can be a great time to travel if you have kids in school or you're running low on vacation time at work, and sometimes they're your only chance to get together with extended family. The downside? Prices tend to spike around Thanksgiving, Christmas and even long holiday weekends like Labor Day.

Choice Privileges award nights no longer top out at 35,000 points per night

Earlier this month, Choice Privileges hiked the award cost of Preferred Hotels & Resorts stays to up to 87,000 points per night. At the time, I celebrated that award nights at Choice Hotels properties still cost between 6,000 and 35,000 points in most parts of the world (except the Asia-Pacific region, where award nights cost up to 75,000 points).

Paris Tipping Guide: At Restaurants, Bars, Hotels, and More

As one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world, the question invariably arises: Do you tip in Paris? For many of us, tipping at restaurants and for various services is an ingrained habit, depending on our local customs. But as always, when traveling to different countries, we inevitably should learn and respect another set of rules—and that includes how much to tip. Fortunately, especially for travelers from the United States, tipping in Paris—and in Europe generally—is really quite simple: Tipping is not expected in French culture, at least not as much as it is in American culture.
