Frequent flyers will have a new way to earn airline miles without ever leaving the ground. Delta Air Lines recently announced a new partnership with Uber that enables members to earn SkyMiles frequent flyer points on the ridesharing app. The airline made the announcement as part of its keynote event at the Consumer Electronics Show inside of the Sphere Las Vegas.  Riders will soon be able to earn one SkyMile per dollar on UberX rides between an airport, two miles per dollar on premium rides, and three miles per dollar on Uber Reserve rides.

United Airlines has one final Christmas present for flyers: Free Wi-Fi is coming sooner than originally promised.

An unwanted gift card could be your ticket to travel.  With Americans spending over $29 billion annually on gift cards, according to the National Retail Federation, the piece of plastic has become a go-to gift for last minute shoppers. However, a gift card can often sit unused and be subject to hidden fees, or for a retailer that isn’t a shopper’s first choice. United Airlines offers a helpful program that will convert unwanted gift cards into points with their frequent flyer program, MileagePlus.

It just got cheaper to fulfill a New Year's resolution for more travel.  Frontier Airlines, a discount carrier based in Denver, recently announced the «New Year, New Savings» promotion, which provides a 100 percent discount off base fares for the airline. While the offer provides relief on airfare prices, travelers are still responsible for taxes and fees associated with their reservation.  The promotion runs through January 5, 2025, and is valid for travel through May 21, 2025. While this means it can be used for winter or spring break getaways, the promotion has several restrictions such as blackout dates and seven-day advance purchase.  Travelers can take advantage of the promotion by entering the code SAVE100 when booking to get the discounted fares.  “Don't wait to make your New Year’s resolutions come true,” Frontier shared about the promotion on their site. “Take advantage of our limited-time offers and book your flight today.”  For example, when the code is applied on a one-way flight from San Jose, CA (SJC) to Las Vegas, NV (LAS) the total one-way fare is $24, where the passenger just pays for the taxes and fees and does not pay for any base airfare charge. For flights when the code is not used, the fare total jumps to $104.
