As the travel industry looks back on a wild 2023, the Walt Disney World Resort is looking forward to 2024 with events, openings and tips for the new year.
For Annual Passholders, good-to-go days will be added to the reservation calendar, Annual Passholder admissions calendar and My Disney Experience app, starting on January 11, allowing qualified guests to enter the theme parks without a reservation.
Good-to-go days will be added periodically and may be released days or weeks in advance.
With the return of all-day Park Hopper access on January 9, passholders can enter another theme park any time during park hours. Annual Passholders may also continue to visit without a park reservation after 2 p.m. unless visiting Magic Kingdom Park on a Saturday or Sunday.
In addition, visitors who purchase standard date-based tickets no longer need to make theme park reservations, making it easier to visit EPCOT when its transformation is completed and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom Park when it opens, both coming in 2024.
For guests staying at Disney Resort hotels, they will once again be able to purchase vacation packages with dining plans. Visitors can choose from two popular options: the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan.
Dining reservations are already open for resort guests staying at Disney properties in January and February, with people being able to book dining up to 60 days in advance and for the entire length of their stay.
In October, Disney World announced it would relaunch its Disney After Hours events on January 10 at Hollywood Studios, January 11 at Magic Kingdom Park and February 2 at EPCOT. Lower wait times for attractions and a chance to explore the park in the evening are just two benefits to the Disney After Hours Events, which can be purchased with designated After Hours tickets.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) anticipates that airport security checkpoints will be busier this winter holiday travel period compared to last year.Fortunately, the agency says it's prepared to meet the surging travel demand.The official end-of-the-year holiday travel period runs from Thursday, December 21 through Tuesday, January 2. TSA is projecting that the busiest days will be Thursday, December 21; Friday, December 29, and Monday, January 1.TSA said it expects to screen more than 2.5 million passengers each of those days, signaling a 6 percent increase from 2022. The busiest day last year was December 29, when officers screened nearly 2.4 million passengers nationwide.The projections come after the TSA screened nearly 30 million passengers during November's 12-day Thanksgiving holiday period. The agency broke the record for most passengers in a single day on Sunday, November 26, screening more than 2.9 million passengers at security checkpoints across the country."We are prepared to handle the busy passenger volumes this winter holiday season," TSA Administrator David Pekoske said in a statement."TSA’s continued success during this record year for travel is a direct result of teamwork, planning and professional execution across the agency, from our frontline employees to those behind the scenes; partnerships with airports and air carriers; and innovative checkpoint technologies that improve security effectiveness, efficiency and the passenger experience," he concluded.Industry trade group Airlines for America (A4A) projects that 39 million people will board flights in the U.S. between Wednesday, December 20 and Tuesday, January 2, for an average of 2.8 million passengers per day.
