In the spirit of holiday giving, we want to know: Do you have an expiring airline upgrade, drink voucher, lounge pass or another travel benefit you won't be using that you could share with a fellow TPG reader before it expires?
We first recommend offering your expiring certificates and other perks to family members, co-workers and friends or seeing if there's any way to take advantage of them yourself. Once you've determined you still have some that'll go unused before expiring in the new year, you can consider sharing them with another reader — perhaps even swapping rewards. Keep reading to find out how you can participate and even benefit from someone else's upgrade; follow our instructions below.
With elite status and credit cards, you may have perks that you can share with a companion. For example, Alaska Airlines offers four upgrade certificates to MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75K flyers. These certificates allow you to secure first-class upgrades on economy tickets. These upgrades apply to the individual member, their companions or even other customers traveling independently.
As long as the "U" fare class is available, you can use these certificates on most flights operated by Alaska Airlines. Sharing these upgrades with eligible customers is simple, and they remain valid until Dec. 31 in the year you earned them.
Likewise, the United Explorer Card includes two one-time United Club passes. You can give these to another person for their own United Airlines travel.
Here's a more extensive list of various upgrades and perks that might be expiring that you can potentially share with another person:

If you have any unused airline and/or hotel perks, why not try and gift them to a fellow TPG reader? You may even be able to ask if they can exchange rewards with you. Doing so can brighten someone's day by sharing an expiring perk or upgrade, even if you're not traveling together. Best of all, there is no cost involved.

Comment with what you have to offer, but please refrain from simply asking for things. The point of this reward swap is giving. If someone does post something that is of interest, please directly message the person.
To note, your offer cannot be sold or exchanged for money. Our Instagram reward exchange thread is simply to connect our readers with generous people within the TPG community. Additionally, TPG is not responsible for anything you give or receive through this exchange.

Experiencing the Northern Lights in all their majesty is a dream for most travellers. Caused by solar-charged particles reacting with the Earth’s atmosphere, the mostly green dancing lights of this natural phenomenon are often spectacular. Seeing auroras is a thrill in itself, but getting a great photo might just be the crowning glory. Given their ethereality, this takes patience, the right kit and a fair bit of forward planning. And, with 2024 expected to bring some of the brightest Northern Lights displays in over 20 years, thanks to the approaching ‘solar maximum’ (a peak in the Sun’s activity), there’s never been a better time to try to capture them.
Alaska Airlines updated its checked baggage fee page over the weekend, raising prices for checked luggage to $35 for the first checked bag (up $5) starting Jan. 2, 2024.
Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska, serves as a gateway to the The Last Frontier’s vast landscapes. Located on the traditional land of the Dena’ina Athabascan people and the Native Village of Eklutna, the city is a blend of the natural Alaskan landscape and modern urban conveniences. Anchorage showcases the best of Alaska — art and culture, breathtaking scenery, wildlife viewing, parks and trails, and an outstanding food scene. It also serves as an excellent base for exploring further afield. From the city, you can take multiple day trips to nearby must-see places such as Chugach State Park, the Matanuska Glacier, and the resort town of Girdwood. Due to the wealth of things to do in and around Anchorage, it’s worth spending at least three, if not more, days here. When it comes to planning accommodation, consider booking a self-catering option such as an Airbnb. This will give you a home base where you can kick off your muddy boots after a day exploring, prepare a home-cooked meal, and have a more local experience of Alaska. The Airbnb Anchorage rentals listed here range from cabins in the nearby forests, chic downtown apartments suitable for couples, to large townhouses for groups or families. All have Superhost status, five-star reviews from past guests, and promise an unforgettable vacation to the state.
