Dorey Poder and Damir Konjicija didn’t have a vision for their wedding, because they didn’t think they’d be lucky enough to have one: Damir fled war in Bosnia as a child and grew up in a refugee camp in the Czech Republic, and then the southern United States (Kentucky), while Dorey was raised in a very conservative town in California. “We didn’t know if we would ever get married in our lifetime, so when the time actually came, we looked at each other like, do we want to have a wedding? Or is this just an ‘us’ thing?” says Dorey of the brief consideration to get hitched at city hall.
Damir Konjicija (left) and Dorey Poder (right) held their welcome celebration at Artrutx Sea Club, a restaurant set beneath a 19th-century lighthouse on the western coast of Menorca.
The Los Angeles-based couple worked with Ofelia Botella, a Spanish watercolor artist based in London, to create their charming wedding stationery suite.
But the couple, who are based in Los Angeles and both work in the entertainment industry (Dorey is the vice president of casting for CBS Television, while Damir is a TV writer for shows like Young Sheldon and Home Economics), adore traveling. They take at least two big international trips a year, typically during shoulder season, with Dorey running the research and itinerary and Damir handling the logistics. The light bulb of a destination wedding lit up when they got engaged at home in their Los Angeles backyard in 2023: “It was either nothing or a destination wedding that was essentially one of our vacations, but with all of our best friends and immediate family,” says Dorey.
Their loved ones needed no convincing once the plan solidified around the Spanish island of Menorca. They emailed the guest list a year out and “were so pleasantly surprised and so moved when, across the board, everyone was like, ‘This is a Dorey Poder-curated experience? We're coming,’” laughs Damir.
What followed, he says, was the absolute bliss of realizing they would soon celebrate their relationship with their dearest in a glorious location… which quickly turned into anxiety around the pressure of pulling that off. “We [would] have to give everybody a vacation,” Damir says. Ahead, they explain how they did exactly that for a guest list of 40 in May 2024.
The majority of their guests stayed within the serene interiors of the five-star Faustino Gran Relais & Chateaux in Menorca.
The grooms got ready together in their hotel suite before their wedding at Nonna Bazaar, a restaurant and farmhouse.
The pair didn’t immediately have a location in mind when they decided on a destination wedding, but they did have a rule: “We definitely wanted it to be somewhere that at least one of us had been, so we had some grip on the

A presidential campaign. A hurricane. A cult-favorite cabbage slaw.
Located inside the Pamukkale hot springs (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) in Pamukkale, Türkiye, Cleopatra’s Pool a geothermal hot spring with one feature that makes it standout from every other hot spring on earth: It’s located within the ruins of an ancient temple that once might have belonged to Cleopatra.
I am just going to come out and say it, having a hot shower out in the desert while camping is an absolute cheat code. I feel as calling something indescribable is often overstated and overused in the modern day social media era, however, I am going to state just that, a hot shower at the end of a day spent hiking, exploring and adventuring is indescribable.
A lot of people are surprised when I tell them my favorite card is The Platinum Card® from American Express. I love it because it offers incredible statement credits and comes with so many benefits.

For the next week or more, night sky gazers will be able to witness the Tsuchinshan-ATLAS comet streaking past Earth. Don't forget to keep your eyes peeled—it's not often a comet is bright enough to be visible to the naked eye, and this specific comet won't be back for another 80,000 years.

When TPG Senior Writer Ben Smithson alerted me to Air France-KLM Flying Blue's July Promo Reward sale — flights from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Europe started at 15,000 Flying Blue miles each way — I was excited. Deals like this aren't exactly rare, but most of them depart from either the East Coast or West Coast, and I'm based in Colorado. I've considered booking positioning flights to take advantage of past deals, but the cost and hassle never ended up being worth it.
It's 12 p.m. on Thursday and I am running through the streets of Brooklyn. I have to be out of New York City and on the highway north to reach Storm King Art Center by 3 p.m., when Charli XCX will be bumping her new album at a surprise listening party. Streaming in from directions unknown, hundreds of other fans have likewise shirked their responsibilities for the day—skipping work and school, canceling plans, ditching kids with partners—and booked it to this 500-acre sculpture park in New Windsor, New York, on the vague premise of exclusively hearing Charli XCX's latest music the day before the album's release. Some have taken four-hour trains; others, carpooled with strangers; the most die-hard brats are seeing her for the fourth or fifth time, after having followed her to California, Spain, and beyond. For her part, I know Charli herself will be on a plane the minute the show ends, given she's in the middle of her North America tour.
