Just a week before Royal Caribbean International's 55th anniversary,Lionel Messi has officially christened its newest ship, Icon of the Seas, at a star-studded naming celebration in Miami.
Across eight neighborhoods, Icon is home to six record-breaking waterslides, the first suspended infinity pool at sea, and more than 40 restaurants, bars, and lounges.
The celebration was hosted by four-time Emmy award-winning actor and host Mario Lopez, where Messi conducted the ceremonial bottle breaking, joined on stage by the President of Royal Caribbean International, Michael Bayley, and Icon's captain, Henrik Loy.
Messi said, "Family is everything to me, and it was exciting to participate in welcoming the world's best family vacation to Miami.
Everything I've seen on Icon of the Seas is next level. There are experiences for the whole family to make memories that they'll remember forever."
