Norwegian Viva is the newest vessel of Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), and the second ship in its award-winning Prima Class. Norwegian Cruise Line Forced to Cancel Months of 2025 Sailings

For some people, it was a holiday of bad news.
Those people received a letter from Norwegian Cruise Line saying it has canceled more than seven months of sailings on the Norwegian Sun.
The sailings are more than a year out, however, and include itineraries dated from March 28 through November 3, 2025.
The cruise line said in a letter to passengers that it had to redeploy the ship during that time. NCL plans to fully refund the fares and to offer guests a 10 percent discount on future cruises when they apply the credit toward a published sailing through December 2025.
“We sincerely appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you aboard very soon,” the letter said.
It should come as no surprise though.
Norwegian has already canceled three itineraries aboard the Norwegian Epic for 2025. The ship is scheduled for “a revitalization,” the company said. Norwegian also previously canceled sailings aboard Norwegian Spirit for almost three months in the summer of 2024.
Unlike the airline industry, which is notorious for dragging its heels, the cruise lines are quick to refund passengers or find them alternative bookings.
Earlier this summer, the Norwegian Viva had to enter into service in Italy.
