Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel was one of the most influential fashion icons of all time. And this fall, travelers can get a full dose of her fashions.
The V&A Museum in London is launching The Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto Exhibition Experience, an homage to the famous trendsetter. The exhibit will run from September 16-February 25, and will offer an immersive journey into the world of Coco Chanel, tracing the remarkable story of her fashion empire and the evolution of her iconic design style that continues to shape women's fashion today. The exhibition covers the opening of her first millinery boutique in Paris in 1910 to the showing of her final collection in 1971 displaying more than 200 looks from Chanel.
A special package to see the exhibit is available through The Kensington Hotel in London. Located within a series of grand 19th-century buildings in South Kensington, The Kensington evokes Victorian fantasies. But there’s nothing stuffy about the 150-room hotel, which is beloved for its cheery service, bright and comfortable rooms, and unbeatable location near the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, and V&A.
The Kensington's Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto Exhibition pacakge offers guests the chance to meander through the exhibit with an un-timed ticket (most tickets have specific timed entry attached, and many of the tickets have already sold out!). Also included is:
1. Full English Breakfast
2. Two tickets to the exhibition
3. For Suite bookings, a special gift of the Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto Coffee Table book. It is available starting September 16, 2023.
And here’s a bit more about The Kensington. You can choose between the “Cosy” rooms (perfect for solo travelers at 150 square feet), the classic rooms, or the sumptuous suites, which feature four-poster beds, free-standing tubs, Waterford crystal chandeliers, and balconies overlooking the neighborhood’s wide boulevards. Before heading out to catch a show at the Royal Albert Hall, you can enjoy dinner at the Town House restaurant, a clubby space serving classic fare like dry aged Beef Wellington and fish and chips.
Just don’t eat too much – or you’ll never fit into your Chanel suit.

Fast-paced, fabulous and fun, London is packed with world-class things to see, do and experience. You probably already have a checklist of London sights to visit, but don't forget to pause and soak up the vibe of a city that has been at the forefront of world culture for at least two millennia.
Organised by Atout France, the second edition of the #ExploreFrance Festival takes place in London from 11-17 September 2023 and shines the spotlight on wine tourism. The festival is entirely dedicated to promoting French wine tourism destinations, targeting British travellers with a series of professional and public events that position France as a key oenological and eco-responsible tourist destination in Europe and highlight its importance in UK-France trade. The festival will include B2B and press activities for French partners over three days and is supported by a week-long cultural programme around wine for the general public, held at the Institut Français.
Is there a better month to feel a surge of travel spirit than September? As the summer holiday crush eases, Europe gets back to business and harvest time brings a bevy of the continent’s stellar produce to restaurant tables, from young wines to olives, Greek figs, British apples, Spanish almonds and so much more.
Watching The Pillowmanat Duke of York’s Theatre in London last night was, hands down, the most intense live theater performance I’ve ever experienced. Part of it, I’m sure, was because my husband and I were sitting second row center and were so transported into the show, it was hard to remember it was, in fact, a show.
Having journeyed through London with my excited five-year-old by my side this summer, I've realized that the UK's bustling capital, often imagined as a playground for adults, holds numerous hidden treasures for the younger ones. If your child dreams of Peppa Pig adventures and majestic palaces like mine, London will transform those vivid fantasies into cherished memories. Beyond the iconic landmarks they recognize from beloved cartoons, the city offers unique and often overlooked experiences tailored just for children. Here are the best activities for kids in London.
As autumn collections go, it’s looking pretty spectacular. On September 12, the Peninsula opens its doors in London for the first time. The position is superb - overlooking Hyde Park corner, close to Buckingham Palace. Architect Peter Marino has opted for a calm and considered approach in the 190 rooms and suites; they are as large and well-designed as you'd hope from their price tag, from £1,300 a night.
