In 2021, the property changed hands, with developer Witkoff Group and Monroe Capital acquiring ownership of the property from HFZ Capital Group.
Spanning three acres, the redevelopment site includes the original Shore Club hotel, which was built in 1949, and the Cromwell Hotel, built in 1939. In addition to restoring and reimagining these existing buildings, the project will incorporate a new 18-story residential tower and a freestanding residential villa.
Once completed, the Shore Club Resort & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection will have 73 guestrooms and 49 residences.
The property will be home to several food and beverage venues, an indoor-outdoor spa, a fitness center, a beach club and three pools.
The Shore Club Resort & Residences will join 27 other properties in the Auberge portfolio.
The property's renovation comes amid a surge of high-end hotel development in Miami Beach.
