One of the most popular Las Vegas casino resorts is turning 25, so what better time to reveal a $1.5 billion face-lift?
The Venetian Resort Las Vegas unveiled details of its costly makeover amid its 25th birthday bash this month. The sprawling resort recently added a variety of new experiential offerings, from the cabaret-disco show of Belle de Nuit at Voltaire (an intimate lounge venue where Kylie Minogue just wrapped up a residency) to the Sphere at The Venetian (the iconic entertainment venue that opened with a U2 residency and is now featuring Dead & Company).
The variety of new activities joins some of the mainstays of the Venice, Italy-inspired resort, like the gondola rides down the Grand Canal. Just remember: The canals at The Venetian Resort are lined with more luxury shopping and American steakhouses than you'll find in Italy.
On the rooms front, all 4,000 suites in The Venetian's towers will be completely updated and ready for stays in September. The new look of the suites is meant to be reminiscent of the Venice Carnival, and we've noticed more of a red and white color palate than the purple upholstery seen during prior stays. The Venetian team notes the suites "remain the largest standard room" on the Las Vegas Strip.
The resort team also teased new "chef-led culinary concepts" that will be announced later this year.
"The Venetian Resort's innovative spirit has had a massive impact on Las Vegas over the last 25 years and paved the way for our visionary $1.5 billion reinvestment today," Patrick Nichols, president and CEO of The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, said in a statement. "This redevelopment marks more than just a surface-level renovation, it signifies a deep understanding of our guests and a profound reimagining of an iconic resort unlike any other in history. The beauty of this project lies within the balance of the beloved familiar and the never-before-seen."
The Venetian has new gaming options like The Palazzo High-Limit Gaming Lounge, the Yahoo Sportsbook powered by William Hill for sports betting and a new poker room slated to open this summer. There is also the new Venetian Rewards loyalty program, which debuted earlier this year. The resort is planning a $188 million renovation to its convention center as well.
Don't forget: The Venetian is part of IHG's InterContinental Resort Alliance, so you can earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points with stays here.
The resort is offering various room discounts throughout the summer as part of the anniversary celebration, and you can get up to an additional 5% off if you join Venetian Rewards.
It sounds like there are 1.5 billion new reasons to check out The Venetian over the next few months. Of course, still make time to check out the
