November can be one of the better months to travel, depending on when you do it. Traveling in November means you miss the summer crowds and rush of students settling into their campuses, plus the chaos of travelers before the end-of-year holiday season. Here are some of the top places to visit in November.
Best Places To Travel In November In The USA
If staying stateside is an option, you have quite a few options. The southern part of the United States has cooler weather, while the northern region may be cooler, with leaf-peeping activities available.
Phoenix, Arizona, can be a great city to enjoy warm weather and participate in outdoor activities. This sunny getaway has plenty to offer, including sports, shopping, golfing, and spas and wellness centers for relaxation. There are also several hot springs to visit near the Phoenix area.
New York City is also an excellent place to visit and avoid crowds, so long as you visit before Thanksgiving, when the annual Macy’s parade takes place. Hotels and activities will be less crowded towards the beginning of the month. You may also be able to catch the holiday lights and window displays in preparation for the holidays.
Traveling Abroad
A visit to the Caribbean islands should also be on your list. November is a great time to visit as there aren’t as many people, and the accommodation prices are lower. There is also plenty of sun to take in.
Another destination that can be great for a family holiday is London, England. The weather isn’t too cold, there is plenty to see and do in the capital city, and there is no need to worry about Thanksgiving closures. Flights are also less expensive than they will be in December, and there is more availability for accommodations. The holiday lights are also on at the beginning of November, and Christmas markets begin to open during this time.
Summary
You may be surprised to find that November can be a great time to travel, both domestically and abroad, so long as you plan carefully around the Thanksgiving holiday. And if you do travel around Thanksgiving, note that Thanksgiving Day can be one of the least busy days to travel in the United States.
