There’s no denying that Uber is super convenient and an easy way to get around any destination and to and from the airport. But, let’s face it, wallet-friendly it’s usually not.
Now, that’s no longer the case.
The brand that everyone knows introduced several new features today that expand its consumer reach and are designed with affordability and convenience on top of mind.
As a frequent traveler who is constantly going to and from the airport, Uber Shuttle is the big one for me. It allows you to reserve a seat along with others heading to the same destination for a price that’s significantly cheaper than UberX. As of this summer, Uber will launch an airport shuttle service to riders in cities throughout the world. More details are forthcoming.
Then there’s Schedule UberX Share. I like this one because it’s sustainable. The feature lets you schedule a shared ride from 10 minutes up to 30 days in advance. You save around 25%, compared to a regular UberX and cut down on carbon emissions to boot.
And most fun of all for those of you- and ok, me!- who travel to catch a concert: Uber is partnering with Live Nation venues in Chicago, Charlotte and Pittsburgh to bring UberShuttle to concertgoers. And, the collaboration also comprises Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins, and Formula One Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix.
You will be able to hop on an Uber Shuttle from convenient downtown locations right to these venues.
Anthony le Roux, the general manager of Uber Shuttle, told me that the company knows that people are constantly traveling to major events like concerts and the Grand Prix and seeking easy ways to get around.
“We've all had the experience of having just seen an incredible concert or an amazing game, but as soon as it's over, you need to navigate your way through a busy parking lot that's packed with people. It can be frustrating,” he says. “With Uber Shuttle for Events, concert-goers and sports fans will be able to get from venue to home seamlessly, and for a fraction of the price."
