Windstar Cruises is rolling out new perks to say “thank you” to travel advisors.
The small-ship line is unveiling the new incentives ahead of National Travel Advisor Appreciation Day on May 1.
Travel advisors who make a new booking or complete Windstar’s online training program during the month of May will be entered for a chance to win one of our free cruises for two. New 2024 bookings made in May get them five entries, while new bookings for 2025 and beyond get them two entries. Completing Windstar’s Star Specialist Online Learning Program also gets them five entries.
Windstar is also offering a $100 commission bonus for each cabin booked with a new-to-Windstar guest in May.
“Advisors are very successful in bringing new-to-cruise guests to the brand, which is something we’ve been seeing in large numbers since the cruise industry opened back up in 2021,” says Dianna Rom, Windstar’s vice president of sales. “Their expertise enriches the experiences of travelers and helps ensure happy guests sailing on our ships.”
In addition, starting in June, Windstar will pay all booking commissions 29 days before the cruise departure, rather than after the departure. Travel advisors who become Windstar Cruises Star Specialists will also have the opportunity to earn back their FAM cruise fare as a future commission payment.
The cruise line also plans to launch a consumer campaign that encourages people to book a Windstar cruise through a travel advisor.
“We are happy to report that with a major upgrade on our reservation system nearly complete, we’ll be able to pay commissions to our advisors earlier,” says Janet Bava, Windstar’s chief commercial officer. “Our valued partners have requested this in our conversations, and now we’ll be able to fulfill it. Our success is tied together, and we must support each other.”
