Travelers hoping to escape the coming cold weather can save big on a trip south of the equator thanks to Air New Zealand’s latest sale that has roundtrip flights from the United States starting at less than $800.
The sale, which must be booked by 11:59 p.m. PDT on Oct. 8, has flights available to Auckland from several U.S. cities like New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, Air New Zealand shared with Travel + Leisure. And as a bonus, travelers can pay an extra $50 to add a flight from Auckland to a second city in New Zealand to explore more of the country.
«As summer winds down, there's no better time to plan your next getaway,” Ben Evers-Swindell, Air New Zealand’s general manager for the Americas, told T+L. “With direct flights from six major cities across North America, your dream vacation is just a night's sleep away. Don’t miss this chance to explore New Zealand’s stunning landscapes and culture.”
Travel roundtrip to Auckland in Air New Zealand’s economy class starting at just $795 from Honolulu, $945 from Los Angeles, $995 from San Francisco, or $1,245 from Houston. Or, fly one of the world’s longest flights direct from New York City to Auckland with tickets starting at just $1,495 roundtrip.
The sale also has big savings in premium economy or business class. Travelers can fly roundtrip to Auckland from Los Angeles, for example, starting at just $2,495 for premium economy and starting at just $6,495 in business class. The same goes for the airline’s 17 and a half hour flight from New York, which starts at $3,495 for premium economy and starts at $7,995 for business class.
Travel dates vary by departure city and fare class.
Travelers flying in economy and hoping for a bit of extra room can either book the airline’s Skycouch, which allows passengers to turn three seats into a makeshift bed, or opt to upgrade to the “Economy Stretch” cabin class, which features 39 percent more legroom. Eventually, the airline plans to introduce the Economy Skynest, which will feature sleeping pods passengers pay to take turns using.
