Right now, American Airlines is offering some serious bargains on round-trip flights to some of Europe’s most iconic destinations, with prices starting at under $500. The sale, which runs through September 17, covers flights departing on select dates between now and May 2024. Travelers can take advantage of discounted flights to such timeless cities as Athens, Dublin, London, Lisbon, Paris, Venice and many more.
“Together with our partners Aer Lingus, British Airways, Finnair and Iberia, we take you to your favorite destinations in Europe. Explore limited-time deals to the U.K., Spain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and more,” the airline wrote on its promotion page.
Various blackout dates apply, with the specifics dependent upon your selected route, but these tend to cover peak holiday and spring break periods, according to Travel + Leisure. These specially discounted fares apply exclusively to weekday travel, with outbound flights scheduled for Sundays through Wednesdays and Sundays and return flights available from Tuesdays through Fridays.
Some sample deals we found priced at under $500 include:
It’s worth noting that these low-priced fares are for non-refundable Basic Economy tickets, which means you can’t make flight changes and will have to pay extra for a seat assignment. Travelers who prefer to have more flexibility can opt for a Main Cabin upgrade, which provides benefits like a free checked bag, the ability to pick your seat, and the option to cancel and receive a flight credit.
This sale arrives on the heels of the news that American Airlines is expanding its European routes for next summer. The airline will add new connections between Chicago and Madrid, Philadelphia and Edinburgh, and Charlotte and Miami to Rome. Additionally, seasonal services between Philadelphia and Copenhagen, Naples and Nice will also return next summer.
