For Allergy and Asthma Awareness Month, Lawn Love ranked the worst and best cities for grass allergies this summer.
The 380 cities were compared based on a number of factors, including allergy risk, exacerbators, access to detection, treatment resources, grass pollen forecasts, allergen intensity, and lawn mowing frequency.
Lawn Love's study found that Washington, D.C. and Lancaster, Pennsylvania, had the highest presence of significant grass allergens, while Florida and Minnesota had the lowest turf allergy risk overall, with Fort Myers, Florida, being ranked as the best due to the two states low grass pollen forecasts and less severe lawn allergens.
Also, according to the study, seven Illinois cities, six Connecticut cities, Philadelphia and Washington D.C., were found to have the most overall turf allergens, with all of them containing high levels of mild, moderate, and significant allergens.
