Cabo San Lucas is experiencing massive growth as historic tourism numbers climb. Never before has this resort city on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula seen so much development, and with the arrival of more top-name resorts, the area has quickly become one of the most popular luxury destinations in the world.
More people visited Los Cabos beaches last year than ever before, establishing the destination as one of the best places in the world for a beach vacation. According to Rodrigo Esponda, Managing Director of Los Cabos Tourism Board: “Los Cabos has been experiencing exponential visitor growth – in the last five years alone, we have seen an accumulated growth rate of 45.1%. We proudly closed 2023 with historic visitation at a total of 3.85 million visitors.”
“We are incredibly excited about the new hotels opening this year,” adds Esponda. “The strong, steady growth continues to reinforce Los Cabos as a luxury destination for our visitors. Each hotel provides a unique offering, feel, and location that spans Los Cabos’ region to cater to a diverse range of visitors and their unique interests.”
Los Cabos has enjoyed a bevy of new hotel openings in recent years from luxury brands like Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal in the heart of Cabo San Lucas, the Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas located on East Cape, Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and The Cape, a Thompson Hotel in Cabo San Lucas. With many offerings, from high-end villas on the beach to all-inclusive packages, Cabo has something for everyone.
Among the wide range of luxury hotel properties opening in 2024 and 2025 are;

Despite being one of the most coveted residential neighborhoods in Manhattan, TriBeCa has long had a dearth of beautiful places to stay. That changed this month when the London-based Firmdale Hotels opened its third New York property, the 57-room Warren Street Hotel. However, unlike the red brick structures that surround it, this building is painted a bright cerulean. TriBeCa offers just the right mix of “artists, designers, families and a sprinkling of Hollywood glamour,” says Kit Kemp, Firmdale’s co-founder and creative director, whose interior design studio also has its own furniture and accessories line. “We wanted to build something that contributes to this narrative in a bold and exciting way.”
Sitting in the back of a well-worn pickup truck, my shoulders sore from the 65-liter backpack I’d been living out of, I struggled to keep the provisions I’d stashed for the next two days from rolling on the floor: gnarled-skinned avocados, a large perfectly ripe papaya, El Cafe de la Mancha’s paper packet of freshly ground coffee, homemade pecan and cashew granola, Chilean Malbec, and the ingredients for a very un-Mexican spaghetti bolognese.
