I stayed at Universal Orlando's Cabana Bay Beach Resort for three nights in August. The highly-themed mid-century modern hotel is without a doubt one of the best deals on the property.

Corinthia Rome will be Corinthia Hotel’s first property in Italy, along with the restaurant that will be managed by Carlo Cracco.
ROME – Carlo Cracco has been named Chef Partner of Corinthia Rome, a new five-star luxury property that international hotel developer Corinthia Hotels will open in the Italian capital in spring 2024.
The internationally acclaimed chef will conceive and develop the food and beverage offering of the luxury hotel’s restaurant, bringing for the first time its unique culinary approach to Rome in an exceptional location on Piazza del Parlamento.
Conceived to become one of the most exclusive destinations on the Roman scene, Corinthia Rome will occupy a seven-floor building that was originally built in 1914 to house the Bank of Italy. A site featuring an outstanding cultural heritage, the palazzo will maintain its original façade overlooking the Parliament of Italy, while inside it will be entirely redesigned to offer the best in terms of hospitality, design, food and beverage, and guest services.
“I am honored to partner with Corinthia Hotels and contribute to the development of such an ambitious project,” comments Carlo Cracco, who currently runs the iconic outpost in Milan’s Galleria Vittoria Emanuele featuring a restaurant, a café, a wine cellar and a space for private events, along with the Cracco Portofino restaurant in the Italian luxury seaside resort. “It will be so exciting to find new ways to seduce international and local guests with a food proposal that will combine my signature approach with influences coming from Rome, the Eternal City, an incomparable source of beauty and inspiration.”
“We are very happy to welcome Carlo Cracco to our Rome hotel. He brings craftsmanship and a culinary expertise that is entirely aligned to our vision of authenticity and provenance for our first step into Italy.” commented Simon Naudi, CEO of Corinthia Hotels.
Corinthia Rome will be Corinthia Hotel’s first property in Italy, along with the restaurant that will be managed by Carlo Cracco, the Roman hotel will count 60 guest rooms, a bar, a lobby lounge, as well as a Spa and a gym. A open-air garden courtyard will also enable guests to enjoy Rome’s mild climate at its best.

One of the best things about working remotely is the ability to be, well, remote. And while some people have full home office setups and need the stability of working in the same place every day, as a travel writer, all I really need is my laptop. So when I had the chance to travel to the Caribbean recently, I decided to add on a few extra days of scuba diving and working remotely on St. Maarten, to the east of the Virgin Islands. Given that my direct flight from the East Coast was only $250, and hotel rooms in St. Maarten’s off season start around $100 per night, it seemed like a great choice.
With fall on the horizon, the window for travelers to visit seasonal hotels and resorts is narrowing, and often shoulder season is the best time to visit seasonal properties as it brings less crowds, cooler temperatures and more affordable prices.
