Canyon Ranch is one of the world’s greatest spas – and as a luxury and wellness writer, I have had the privilege of visiting – and reporting on – this award-winning destination for the past 25 years. And I never tire of it. Every time I go, it is a new thrill – whether it’s a new class that I take, or a spiritual seminar that fortifies me, or, in Lenox, the absolutely wonderful lectures on miracles, gratitude and positivity that have been given there for more than 30 years by a fabulous speaker named Jerry Posner. I always leave refreshed and renewed and strengthened in this journey that we call life. (Oh yes, and I always get the dreaded bodyfat-assessment test that keeps me motivated.)
But to be honest, you know what I love best? The food. OMG, I eagerly await every single snack, every treat and every meal – with gusto. At Canyon Ranch, they have kicked out all the calories, and made smart substitutions, which means you can make extremely wise food choices. Indeed, one of my most-favorite-ever foods on the menu is the Southwest burger, containing 352 calories, 14 grams of protein and 9 grams of fat. In a word, it is scrumptious – and it’s on the lunch menu every day. The vegan burger is made with corn, oyster mushrooms, roasted bell peppers, oats used as a binder, a Southwest spice blend, and onions. It is served on a potato roll with avocado (yum!) and with a house-made pickled relish. In other words, you can eat petite at Canyon Ranch and love every bite. And don’t miss the luscious “hot fudge” complemented with soft-serve yogurt – it’s made with fruit juice and for me, it’s the perfect ending to every meal there.
Well, now there are even more great reasons to visit Canyon Ranch, in Tucson – and that is due to the award-wining spa’s special beauty and wellness event to be held from March 17-21. This fun first-ever festival is called “Enchant at The Ranch.” And get this: Every attendee will leave with a beauty swag bag filled with about $2,500 worth of beauty products.
Is that an OMG moment, or what? This means that you will have access to some of the world’s best dream creams, flawless makeup foundations, and much, much, more, for complexion perfection and all-around wellness that will enhance your well-being. It’s your personal passport to a prettier face and greater good health for your entire body — and psyche.
At the event, Canyon Ranch will welcome industry-leading speakers including Rachel Roy (Founder of Ancient India), Joanna Czech (celebrity esthetician and skincare guru), Janet Gurwitch (Founder of Laura Mercier), Sheena Zadeh-Daly (Founder of Kosas), as well as a collection of marquee beauty and wellness brands including The Outset (Co-founded by Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson and

It is easy to see why Bangkok is such a popular travel destination. Bursting with color and culture, exuberant temples and delectable street food, it is no wonder that this is one of the world’s most-visited cities.
Whilst many of us just want a ‘fly and flop’ holiday, research suggests the emergence of a new kind of traveller who wants to ‘fly and flourish’, using holiday time for cultural discovery and to become their ‘best selves’. New research conducted by global hotel brand TUI BLUE* reveals nearly half of us (45%) don’t go on holiday just to relax and unwind, but to become the best versions of ourselves.
The Indian Wells Open is my favorite U.S. tennis event, bar none. The Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa is a stone’s throw from the venue, and its beautiful desert grounds are a welcoming respite from the throngs trying to get a glimpse of Rafa (who will play on the evening of March 7th). Why is Indian Wells so special? There’s a paradoxical mellow and electric vibe there. A short drive from Palm Springs, California and set in the comparatively verdant Colorado Desert, it’s a place for meditation, introspection, self-care — and world-class tennis. The Indian Wells Open, AKA the BNP Paribas Open (BNP Paribas sponsors the event) is the most popular tennis event in the world aside from the four major slams, but the venue, Indian Wells Tennis Garden (owned by Larry Ellison since 2009), is so nicely designed that it never feels as crowded as it is. Food options are remarkably good (think Nobu sushi), and VIP and corporate boxes are close enough to the action (unlike at many venues) with excellent catering and service.
At night, the road from Thiruvananthapuram to Kollam seems like one long strip of flashing colored lights festooning shops and restaurants. Kerala is a state on the move. Every empty space is a building site; the plan is to transform the main coastal route from single-lane mayhem to a sleek superhighway. For now, makeshift markets huddle next to gleaming gyms and car showrooms, while wandering pi-dogs and kamikaze auto-rickshaws slow the traffic to a lurching stop-start crawl.

Before it was developed into a seaport and garrison, the area now known as Chennai comprised a cluster of small villages on India’s Coromandel Coast. The largest of these, Madrasapattinam, inspired the city’s original name of Madras before being renamed Chennai in 1996. This history has resulted in a sprawling metropolitan area with no clearly defined downtown core although the region between the Cooum and Adyar rivers generally defines the tourist zone.
