Sometimes, there's nothing better than being a tourist for the day in your own state. As a Florida resident, I'm always looking for new places to visit without traveling far from home.

The Peninsula Hong Kong may have earned the moniker the ‘Grande Dame of the Far East, but the years have been kind to this distinguished lady. With a fleet of Rolls-Royce Phantoms, its own helipad, and one of the most opulent penthouse suites in existence, you would be hard-pushed to find a swankier stay.

The gardening team of this estate near Totnes takes the first few months of the year seriously: spidery yellow witch hazel flowers and snowdrops are the precursor to daffodils and bluebells. Trails allow everyone to explore the 800 acres (Tramper mobility scooters can be arranged). There’s accommodation at different price levels, too, including hostel rooms and those in the original 14th-century building. Dartington does things a bit differently. When most gardens do light shows in winter, Dartington has one based on Alice in Wonderland, running from 8 March to 3 April. Food choices range from pub grub to bagels baked on the estate. The Grenada Tourism Authority has unveiled 31 new sculptures to be added to the Underwater Sculpture Park – a thriving underwater oasis that has become a symbol of art, conservation and cultural pride in Grenada. The unveiling of the new sculptures is part of a rehabilitation and upgrade initiative for the world’s first Underwater Sculpture Park, which celebrates artistic expression and cultural richness by embracing the preservation of marine life.
