Based on AI and research from relationship coaches, web-based tool enables newlyweds to enjoy great honeymoon vacations.
NEW YORK – Discover Africa Safaris, known for delivering amazing personalised African travel experiences, announced that it has launched a new web-based tool that helps couples choose ideal honeymoon destinations and experiences. Developed with artificial intelligence (AI), data from real honeymooners, and research from relationship coaches, the tool matches travelers with honeymoon safaris, honeymoon destinations, and other African safaris based on their personal preferences.
“We designed this tool to help you determine the best destination and type of trip based on you and your partner’s interests, travel ‘personalities’ and budgets,” said Andre Van Kets, Director at Discover Africa Safaris. “If you’re in the midst of planning a wedding and are struggling to align with your partner on where to go on your dream honeymoon, this tool is for you.”
With the tool, couples work through an online quiz that leads them to options like wellness experiences, hot air balloon rides, or even honeymoons that incorporate volunteering work. These features are increasingly relevant as couples are now spending more time on their honeymoons than ever before – as long as two months in some cases.
“There is now a desire for newlyweds to create a honeymoon that is more than just a longer holiday,” Van Kets explained. “They want that ‘life-changing’ experience too. It’s not surprising that this is adding on the pressure to have a ‘picture perfect’ trip, which can make it difficult for couples to agree on what their dream honeymoon looks like.”
Indeed, the tool addresses a problem that is proving to be bigger than most people might imagine: Figuring out the honeymoon can cause relationship stress. In fact, data from the wedding site Hitched reveals that over half (51%) of couples have argued about budget constraints when it comes to their honeymoons. In addition, more than a third (35%) have struggled to agree on where their honeymoon should be.
As Van Kets put it, “A honeymoon isn’t just a honeymoon anymore. Whether it’s a mini-moon, mega-moon, or early-moon, planning the perfect trip (or multiple trips) around your wedding can understandably end up taking its toll for a lot of couples.”
With the average cost of a honeymoon increasing by nearly a quarter (23%) to £3,800 in 2022 according to Hitched’s National Wedding Survey, and a striking 70% of honeymooners now keen to visit more than one destination on their trip, it seems newlyweds are piling on the pressure to nail down the right honeymoon.
