Ethiopian Airlines unveiled new routes, increased flight frequencies, and earned multiple awards from Skytrax and APEX in June, marking significant growth.
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Airlines Group, announces an outstanding month of growth and expansion. In June, the airline unveiled four new international and domestic routes, enhanced flight frequencies on six routes, and celebrated prestigious awards from Skytrax and APEX.
On the international front, Ethiopian Airlines has expanded its network with new routes, including Freetown in Sierra Leone, and Maun in Botswana. Warsaw, the largest and the capital of Poland, has also joined Ethiopian’s extensive global network as its 24th destination in Europe, effective July 1st. Domestically, the airline has introduced flights to Axum and Nekemte. Similarly, Ethiopian increased frequencies on existing routes. Recognizing its continued excellence, Skytrax and APEX have awarded Ethiopian Airlines for its achievements on enhanced customer experience.
In addition to the new routes, Ethiopian Airlines has increased frequencies on several existing routes. Starting on May 31, 2024, passengers on the route to/from Ouagadougou are now enjoying daily flights. Conakry also saw an increase to daily flights effective June 1, 2024. New morning departures from Addis Ababa to Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar in Tanzania commenced on June 16, 2024, along with additional midday departures to Kigali. Evening operations to Douala, will start in July 2024, followed by Lubumbashi in Democratic Republic of Congo.
June also marked a triumphant month for Ethiopian Airlines with several prestigious accolades. The airline’s unwavering commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction through significant investments in services and products was recognized at the 2024 SKYTRAX World Airlines Awards. Ethiopian Airlines was named Best Airline in Africa for the seventh consecutive year.
At the APEX Passenger Choice Awards 2024, the airline secured titles for Best Entertainment in Africa and Best Wi-Fi in Africa, further solidifying its reputation for providing exceptional onboard experiences.
