Walt Disney World regularly offers discounts to help guests save money on their vacations, but it does not often give things away completely for free. However, for vacations in 2025, Disney is doing just that.
Guests arriving between Jan.1 and Dec. 31, 2025, can catch a wave at one of Disney's water parks — Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park — for free on their check-in day. Instead of waiting until the second day of your trip to start the fun, now you can start as soon as you arrive at Disney.
Tickets to Disney's water parks usually cost $74 plus tax for adults and $68 plus tax for kids ages 3 to 9. (Kids under 3 are free at all Disney World parks.) With this special offer, a visit to one of Disney's water parks is included in your stay.
This splashy perk is only available to guests staying at Disney Resort hotels, which includes all official Disney World hotels. However, the offer does not extend to third-party hotels like the Disney Springs hotels, the Marriott-operated Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels or Shades of Green.

Witnessing the natural phenomenon of the aurora borealis belongs on every traveler’s bucket list. But determining where to see the northern lights is a complex matter—actually encountering the majestic and alien-ish green and purple glow of the night sky is not only about location, but also timing (December to March is ideal in many instances; August through April in other parts), positioning (typically from latitudes 65 to 72 degrees North), and plain ol’ luck (a clear, dark, and cloud-free sky).
For skiers and snowboarders, it’s hard to do better than a trip to Park City. Not just because it's home to Deer Valley and Park City Mountain, the largest ski and snowboard resort in the US with 7,300 skiable acres. Or because it’s got one of the most action-packed ski towns as well as hotels that span everything from the cozy Washington School House right by the town lift to the St. Regis Deer Valley with its new slopeside aprés spot, the Vintage Room. It’s also because of access and convenience. Park City is one of the easiest ski towns to get to from a major international airport—just a 35-minute drive from SLC and within an hour of four Salt Lake City-area ski resorts, including Alta and Snowbird—and packs a punch as a year-round destination for dining, the outdoors, and festivals, like Sundance and the Deer Valley Music Festival.

Over the past decade, I've traveled to nearly every US national park solo, many of them multiple times. At several parks, I started planning a return trip before I even left.
