Frontier Airlines has revealed the next chapter in its network shakeup. In the coming months, it will launch service to the two largest airports in the New York City area.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey provided an update on the $4.2 billion redevelopment of Terminal 6 at New York's JFK Airport, saying that the first gates are on track to open in 2026. Construction began a year ago.
JFK Millennium Partners (JMP), the corporate consortium that is financing construction and will operate the international terminal, includes Vantage Airport Group and JetBlue Airways. Vantage also is an owner and operator of New York LaGuardia's new Terminal B, which opened in 2022.
JMP is developing Terminal 6 in two phases, with the first five gates expected to open in early 2026. The project's completion is expected by 2028.
Terminal 6 will connect with JetBlue's Terminal 5. Besides JetBlue, Lufthansa Group will be a Terminal 6 tenant. Lufthansa Group includes Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines. Advanced discussions with other carriers are underway, JMP said,
When completed, the new Terminal 6 will have 10 gates, nine of which will accommodate widebody aircraft. JMP said the terminal will have the longest departures curb at JFK, with airline-branded passenger drop-off zones. In addition to a new arrivals lounge, the terminal will have up to five airport lounges.
A curated collection of New York City-inspired artwork will give the terminal a sense of place, as will New York-inspired retail, dining options and amenities totaling nearly 100,000 square feet.
