Nobu Hotel San Sebastián has officially opened its doors this month; the latest property marks the fifth hotel in Spain for Nobu Hospitality. The luxury lifestyle brand by Robert De Niro, Nobu Matsuhisa and Meir Teper is expected to offer world-renowned cuisine to the already Michelin star-studded San Sebastián.
The new property is set in the former Vista Eder Palace—one of the last remaining historic buildings on La Concha Bay designed by architect Francisco Urcola—and offers an incredibly intimate 17 well-appointed guest rooms and suites. The property will also feature its own Nobu restaurant and Nobu Terrace as well as a rooftop infinity pool reserved exclusively for guests of the hotel.
The namesake Nobu restaurant is located on the main floor of the property; guests can expect Executive Chef Yannick Lohou and Head Sushi Chef Hideaki Mizushima to serve the classic Nobu signature dishes as well as special dishes unique to this property that celebrate local Spanish ingredients, including txangurro crab, sea urchins, mackerel, and cod cheeks.
Nobu Terrace, on the other hand, will be open exclusively for hotel guests come breakfast and later to the public throughout the day. The terrace overlooks La Concha Bay and will serve small Nobu bites as well as specialty cocktails.
Inside the guest rooms and suites were conceptualized by Tomas Alía from Studio Caramba and designed to integrate the Franco-Basque Belle Époque style of the building with the Japanese minimalism that Nobu is known for. The decor uses natural materials and traditional millwork in order to achieve elegance and a sense of calm throughout the property.
The location of the property is just as conducive to a relaxing getaway; Nobu Hotel San Sebastián is located just 15 minutes walking from the Old Town while the San Sebastián airport is just 20 minutes away by car.

That gives us no boundaries — we’ve got a lot of different palates traveling through here and we can make them all very happy.”
