If you have World of Hyatt Explorist or Globalist status, this one is for you.
While we've already discussed how American Airlines elite flyers can enjoy World of Hyatt status if they register by Nov. 30, there's a new way for some World of Hyatt Explorist and Globalist members to earn American AAdvantage status.
Targeted World of Hyatt Explorist and Globalist members can enjoy instant American Airlines AAdvantage status through American's status challenge, Instant Status Pass.
Best of all, if you participate in this promotion, your AAdvantage account status will generally update immediately.
Here's what you can expect:
You might also be able to hold entry-tier AAdvantage Gold status if you earn 13,000 Loyalty Points within four months.
To participate in the challenge, you must link your Hyatt and American loyalty accounts if you haven't already and register for American's Instant Status Pass by Oct. 12.
To register, head to American's website, log into your account and select "Promotions" from your account homepage.
If you've linked your World of Hyatt account and have Explorist or Globalist status, you'll see a place to register for Instant Status Pass.

While Instant Status Pass can be a great way to enjoy American Airlines status from day one, it's not easy to grasp.
Instant Status Pass divides the calendar into Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3. You need to accrue a certain number of Loyalty Points every four months (one phase) to extend your status.
Here's how this worked for me last year as a Globalist member who received a similar promotion. My account immediately upgraded to Platinum Pro status when I registered for the Instant Status Pass. To retain Platinum Pro, I had to earn 42,000 Loyalty Points for Phase 1. I would have lost my status if I didn't earn 42,000 Loyalty Points by March 28, 2023.
Since I earned 42,000 Loyalty Points by March 28, I moved into Phase 2. As you'd expect, for phases 2 and 3, I had to earn 42,000 Loyalty Points again. My Loyalty Points earnings over the 42,000 were rolled over into Phase 2. I earned around 50,000 Loyalty Points in Phase 1, so 8,000 Loyalty Points were rolled into Phase 2; this meant that I only needed to earn 34,000 Loyalty Points during Phase 2 to extend my Platinum Pro status to Phase 3.
Here's how many Loyalty Points you need each phase (every four months) using American's Instant Status Pass:
If you're an Explorist member, you'll enjoy Platinum status for the next four months (Phase 1) immediately after registering for the promotion. If you earn 42,000 Loyalty Points in Phase 1, American will upgrade your status to Platinum Pro. Similarly, if an Explorist or

As a brand, the name Best Western is not new to the American public. Following the acquisition of WorldHotels in 2019 and a company name change to BWH Hotels, the hospitality behemoth, which dates back to 1946, has its sights set on an impressive growth strategy.
I remember the day back in 2014 when I’d just settled into my new apartment in Santiago and a powerful earthquake rattled the walls. I leaped up from my couch and ran for the door, while all the Chileans in the room just sat still and laughed at me, confident in Chile’s strong building codes and unfazed by the regular tremors.
It's been a year and a half since American Airlines launched Loyalty Points, an entirely different way to qualify for AAdvantage elite status. Instead of solely crediting status based on flight activity, American flyers can also earn status through non-flight activities such as staying at hotels, spending on cobranded credit cards and using the airline's shopping portal.

An American Airlines flight attendant used "psychological tricks" to convince a teen girl there was nothing strange happening as he tried to spy on her in the bathroom, her family says.
It's become an iconic image of travel in the United States – a red convertible with the top down, cruising such classic California thoroughfares as the Pacific Coast Highway or across the Golden Gate Bridge.
This as-told-to story is based on a conversation with Carter Schoenberg, the vice-president of a cybersecurity firm and an AAdvantage Platinum member with American Airlines. It's been edited for length and clarity.

As fall brings cooler temperatures, many travelers will be seeking a Caribbean getaway this season.Puerto Rico should be high on their list as Americans can visit without a passport. That's a significant advantage given the current extended wait time for a new travel document.Routine processing times are up to 10-13 weeks while expedited processing (for an additional $60) can still take as long as 7-9 weeks."Since Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, American citizens and permanent residents don't need a passport to travel to the island," Discover Puerto Rico reminds travelers. "However, they must always travel with a valid ID, such as a driver's license or a state ID card."International travelers such as residents of Canada or Mexico will still require a valid passport to visit. Additionally, visitors to the island no longer require proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result to enter.Amid Atlantic hurricane season running through November 1, travelers will also want to be aware of any restrictions due to weather conditions. Hurricane Lee is projected to pass north of Puerto Rico this week with minimal impact. Similarly, all major hotels and venues are thoroughly prepared for inclement weather and have generators," according to Discover Puerto Rico.
