One of the most exciting new things coming to Disney World in 2024 is the 350 all-new cabins that sleep up to six people at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. And don't let the words "cabins" or "wilderness" fool you because, based on the renderings, these are some high-end-looking places to lay your head just a short boat ride away from Disney's Magic Kingdom.
They will also be a part of the Disney Vacation Club, so you can book them not only with cash, but you can also rent DVC points to stay there for potentially even less.
Here's what we know about the new DVC cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.

Disney's Fort Wilderness is a massive campground (not to be confused with the nearby Disney's Wilderness Lodge resort hotel) that has space for tent camping, RV camping and also free-standing cabins you can rent.
These 350 brand-new cabins will reuse the footprint of the existing cabins that have been there for years, but will otherwise be entirely new spaces.
Not only will these DVC cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort be new, but for the first time, they will be a part of the Disney Vacation Club, which opens up additional ways to book stays by owning or renting DVC points.
The cabins will sleep up to six people in a queen bed, twin bunk beds in the main bedroom and a pull-down Murphy bed in the living room. There is a full kitchen, your own outdoor patio and a charcoal grill, and some of the cabins are dog-friendly if you want to bring the whole family.

TPG just learned the opening date for the cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is July 1.
This will be a phased opening, so not every cabin will be available on that date. We also learned that existing Disney Vacation Club members can add on to their membership to buy a membership for these cabins starting Feb. 1 (with the ability to book beginning Feb. 15). Those looking to buy their first DVC membership for this property can do so starting Feb. 27.
Those with memberships at other DVC resorts who are able to book this property with their points can do so beginning April 23. Disney has not yet announced when direct cash bookings will open.

If you book with DVC points that you own or rent, it will cost at least 15 points per night to book one of the cabins during the lowest season of Sept. 1-30. Rented points are available for a variety of prices based on where you rent from, but it is usually $21 to $23 per point to rent through David's Vacation Club Rentals, TPG's point rental partner. That would mean prices start at $315 a night via

A major draw of being in New Orleans during the weeks of Mardi Gras parades—now underway ending with the Big Day on February 13th-is, naturally, sampling the restaurants in the city. But for those who can’t make it to the Big Easy during this stretch, or simply miss it and want to relive the dining experiences at home, it’s easy to get signature dishes from some of the city’s most famous eateries and bakeries shipped to points around the U.S. Various New Orleans establishments have partnered with Goldbelly and the shipments arrive in refrigerated or frozen form with instructions on how to defrost and heat them, bringing them close to on site restaurant form. (When scanning the city’s offerings, though, be warned that they’re not always grouped together. Type “New Orleans” and keep scrolling; other cities may be mixed in.)
Deliciously appealing, Stanley Tucci has returned to Italy this month to film an all-new, 10-episode TV series for National Geographic network that celebrates food and travel in the land of his ancestors. It is tentatively titled Tucci: The Heart of Italy. Pairing Nat Geo’s renowned expertise—creating stunning photography and evocative narratives—with Tucci, a multiple award-winning American actor, is a five-star recipe for success. Ever since the cancellation of Tucci’s previous culinary destination show, CNN’s Searching for Italy, which won Primetime Emmys for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series, fans have enthused on social media about their hopes to watch more of Tucci unearthing tasty morsels and showcasing lovely landscapes in Italy’s distinctive regions. In this fresh eye-opening iteration, which will also air on parent company Disney+, insatiable Tucci will step away from crowded spots to discover serene behind-the-scenes surprises, scrumptious sustenance and compelling stories, while talking and toasting with professional chefs, home cooks, farmers, fishers, winemakers and more. Among this year’s colorful touchdowns: Lazio, Marche, Sicily, Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto.

The number of seniors on the slopes has reached epic proportions. In 2020-21 seniors accounted for 16.1% of skier visits, totaling 59 million, while a record 10.5 million seniors participated in the sport according to the National Ski Areas Association. Contrary to popular belief, not all seniors are snowbirds who fly south at the first sign of winter.
Atlanta will have a new transatlantic option this summer. From June 17, SAS Scandinavian Airlines will fly nonstop daily between Copenhagen and the Georgia hub. The timing of the announcement is notable for one main reason.
Some people are choosing to live in cheaper cities or close to family and still make it to the office hundreds of miles away. Enter the super commuter, or those willing to travel three or more hours to work.
To say the Luc Alphand slope in Chantemerle ends abruptly is an understatement. The piste, graded as a black run, is more like a sheer-drop slide at a giant’s play park, coming to a dramatic halt on the pavement in the middle of town. As I sit in the breakfast room of the Grand Hôtel with a ringside view of skiers barrelling their way down the mountain, wondering whether I’ll be brave enough to join the Luc at some point, I’m all too aware that this dilemma may soon be a thing of the past. Warming temperatures and a lack of snow in the valley mean that the slope, like many around the Alps, needs a lot of artificial snow, using up precious resources.
