This year, Italy’s hotel world is upping the ante when it comes to its many standout luxury offerings, with a plethora of new openings and property updates giving even more choice to visitors. From Italy’s mountainous peaks to its azure waters in the dramatic south of the country, here is Part 2 of Italy’s latest hotel news from the centre to the south of the country.
UMBRIA
Opening this summer is Borgo dei Conti Resort, a 40-room & suite luxury property in Umbria and a member of Relais & Chateaux. The region of Umbria, which neighbours Tuscany but is often overlooked, has been dubbed the ‘green heart of Italy’ and is full of treasures when it comes to untouched country estates, art and its own unique cuisine (porchetta is big here). Championing all of this is Borgo dei Conti, surrounded by 50 acres of picturesque olive groves and forest. The resort has been designed by Milanese firm, Spagnulo and Partners, with its rich colour palettes paying homage to Umbria’s history.
Inspired by the work of iconic Renaissance painters, such as Pietro Perugino and Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (Raphael), the saturated hues are complemented by traditional architecture dating back to the 19th century and native materials that have been paired with contemporary furnishings. The estate also features a culinary offering overseen by executive chef Emanuele Mazzella, and includes a fine dining restaurant, ground-floor bar, classic trattoria, pizzeria and poolside bar. When it comes to wellness, guests can tap into the luxurious spa with its two saunas, a hammam, multiple Jacuzzis and relaxation areas.
ROME
Last year, Rome was in the spotlight with a long list of hotel openings which saw brands, such as Six Senses, Romeo, Edition and Bulgari, open their doors.
This summer, family-owned Leitmotiv is set to offer something different as they debut Casa Monti, opening 1 June 2024. Just as with the opening of La Fantaisie in Paris last summer, Leitmotiv wants to champion small-scale producers and local creative talent with its first Italian hotel. Casa Monti, says the brand, will be a romantic tribute to the charming and lesser-known neighbourhood of Rione Monti, with its village vibe, artisan shops, chic wine bars and new-age art galleries.
The boutique hotel will offer just 36 rooms, a restaurant, an aperitivo bar and a Susanne Kaufmann spa overlooking the city. Local culture will be reflected in the interiors of Casa Monti, which have been designed by Laura Gonzalez, with crafted materials and bespoke prints evoking a carefree Italian spirit. The interior designer is best known for creating bold interiors without compromising on the spirit of the place. When designing the hotel, Gonzalez was inspired by the Italian notion

Pisa attracts more than five million tourists yearly to see its world-famous Leaning Tower. But few realize this proverbial “half-day city” is the gateway to Terre di Pisa, one of Italy's newest and most exciting DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) wine appellations.
The Paris Olympics are almost here, and Uber is ready to celebrate with a pair of new experiences allowing riders to toast their way through France and ride along the Seine on a free boat tour.
Construction chaos, price hikes and now mandatory QR codes to walk some city streets: As the Olympics loom in Paris, many locals are already looking to escape the Games, and come July, will head to quieter parts of France.
There is no doubting the charm of Italy .
Finally, temperatures are rising, making it enjoyable to stroll through the sunny streets of Paris while visiting some galleries. At least, that’s what Vogue France suggests this May. From the first solo exhibition in France of American artist Gwen O'Neil to the unforgettable works of painter Marc Chagall, the editors of Vogue France have selected these as the must-see exhibitions in Paris (and elsewhere in France), presented in chronological order of their closing dates.

The popularity of zero-alcohol cocktails has significantly increased in recent years in Dubai, even as the city’s dining and nightlife scene shows no signs of slowing down. Whether it’s a result of most of the local population’s culture or shifting lifestyle preferences, there’s never been a better time to browse the non-alcoholic drinks sections of menus around town.

For millennia, Salerno, Italy has been overshadowed by the nearby Amalfi Coast and big sister Naples—home to world-famous pizza, sea views, and art. Because the two cities enjoy the same tempered climate and rich traditions, Salerno is often affectionately referred to as “little Naples.” The main difference is that, despite recently becoming a tourist attraction once again, Salerno is blessed with less traffic.
On my twenty-plus trips to Seoul, I generally steered clear of Gangnam, the district south of the Han River immortalized by the South Korean rapper PSY’s 2012 smash hit “Gangnam Style.” Something, however, shifted in me while planning my recent spring jaunt. Gangbuk, the district north of the Han River—where I’d typically plant myself—started feeling a touch too familiar. Plus: how could I judge a place I hadn’t actually spent quality time in?
