The newest mid-tier credit card on the market launched in select Wells Fargo branches March 9. Now, the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey℠ Visa® Card is available online and nationwide at Wells Fargo branches with a valuable sign-up bonus.
The Autograph Journey, the mid-tier version of the no-annual-fee Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card (see rates and fees), comes with a $50 annual statement credit for airfare purchases and valuable earnings rates on travel and dining. It has a $95 annual fee.
Here's a look at the welcome offer on the new Wells Fargo Autograph Journey Card.
The information for the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey Visa Card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
Current welcome bonus: Earn 60,000 bonus rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first three months. Points can be redeemed with Wells Fargo Rewards at a value of 1 cent each, making this bonus worth $600. However, you can get outsize value from your points by transferring them to travel partners.
Annual fee: $95
Earning rate: Earn 5 points per dollar spent at hotels, 4 points per dollar spent on airfare, 3 points per dollar spent on other travel and dining purchases, and 1 point per dollar spent on other purchases.
Why we like it: Along with its valuable earnings rates, the Autograph Journey comes alongside the upcoming launch of Wells Fargo's first-ever transfer partners, a program it's billing as "Points Transfer."
When the program launches on April 4, you'll be able to transfer your points to five airline programs — Air France-KLM Flying Blue, Avianca LifeMiles, British Airways Executive Club, Aer Lingus AerClub and Iberia Plus (the latter three all earning Avios). You'll also be able to transfer to one hotel program, Choice Privileges.
On top of redeeming rewards for travel, statement credits or gift cards at wellsfargo.com/rewards, you'll enjoy perks like a secondary auto rental collision damage waiver, travel and emergency services assistance, roadside dispatch and complimentary access to your FICO credit score. You'll also get cellphone protection against damage or theft when you pay your monthly bill with the Autograph Journey (requires a $25 deductible per claim).
Finally, the card's $50 annual statement credit for airfare purchases effectively cuts the $95 annual fee by more than half, making this card well worth the while if you can take advantage of its welcome offer, earnings rates and transfer partners.
Before you commit to applying for this offer, you'll want to verify your eligibility. Here's the official language on most Wells Fargo credit card applications:
