“Morocco is open, Morocco is safe, and Morocco is still an incredible place to visit.”

I’ve been a bit concerned about Rhodes recently. The Greek island, famed for its famed for its historical grandeur and sun-drenched beaches, saw 15% of its land destroyed by wildfires in late July.
While Rhodes’ state of emergency has been lifted and said fires are now under control, the threat they’ve posed to the island’s extremely important tourism industry continues.
If you, like many, are wondering whether its safe to travel to Rhodes, it’s important to know that a) official travel bodies have not only given holidaymakers the green light, and b) your patronage is going to help many of the island’s restaurants and hotels get back on their feet.
And if that’s not enough to convince you, let me assure you: Rhodes has a lot to offer—especially for those with a passion for food and drink.
So, without further ado, let’s get to some of the very best places to eat, stay and play in Rhodes today.
With food and drink on the brain, my first recommendation to anyone would be The Ixian Grand & All Suites. The beautiful beachfront hotel is not only situated against bright azure waters, but boasts an incredible range of restaurants (that means you don’t actually have to leave the hotel if you don’t want to).
Both adults-only and all-inclusive (tick, tick, am I right?), the hotel’s all-day restaurant, Vis-à-Vis, focuses on a wide range of pan-Mediterranean dishes while Milonges, the open-air poolside restaurant, offers elevated Greek dishes at lunch and dinner.
Elsewhere, Muza Htista celebrates all thinks Nikkei, fusing Japanese-Peruvian classics with experimental flavors and fantastic cocktails. Of course, as an all-inclusive, you can also find a large selection of cocktails at the hotel’s many bars, any time of day. The Blue Bar, by one of its three main pools, even hands out meal-worthy snacks and ice-creams for those who can’t be bothered leaving their sun loungers.
If you stay in one of the hotel’s many suites (with gorgeous swim-up rooms, I’d say you might as well), you even have access to a private restaurant—Alazonia—which refreshes its luxe menu items and experimental amuse bouches each day.
It’s also only 7km away from Rhodes town and a 10-minute drive from Filerimos (one of the three ancient cities of Rhodes), making it a great base for touring around the island, too.
From the traditional tavernas that hold time-honored recipes fast to the emerging, new-age restaurants combining innovation with tradition, Rhodes’ food scene remains a vibrant tapestry waiting to be unraveled.
Stegna Kozas, a multi-generational family restaurant on the edge of Stegna bay’s crystal clear waters, is a personal favorite. And very worth traveling out of your way to visit.

Gunta and Greg Larsen were looking for an expedition cruise that colored outside the lines when they found a 15-day coastal Japan cruise offered through Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic. And that's exactly what they got.
It only took three installments over two decades, but the Portokalos family of the My Big Fat Greek Wedding film series is finally headed to the motherland. In the third movie, they head to Greece for a family reunion in the hometown of their beloved, recently passed patriarch. It’s a delightful development for the franchise, but it only came about via mundane logistics. “Something miraculous happened,” says the film’s writer, director, executive producer, and star Nia Vardalos. “Greece got a tax credit, and that is magic. That is music to any financier's ears.”
In the saturated market of high-end beauty, luxury fragrance brands abound. Few, however, have a story that’s as compelling as MEMO Paris.
Greece is home to over 6,000 islands, of which more than 200 are inhabited. Formed into six main island clusters, the Cyclades, Ionian, Saronic Gulf, Sporades, Northeast Aegean, and Dodecanese Islands, each has its own distinctive character and culture. There’s also one significant stand-alone: Crete. Traveling within each island group is generally more accessible than inter-archipelago trips, but that is possible if you have time and money to spend. The beauty of the country — its white-walled cliffside villages, ancient ruins, and stunning blue water — is no secret. Come summer the beaches of Mykonos and the sunset bars at Santorini are jam-packed. However, there are ways around jostling for a spot on the sand. Traveling to one of the lesser knowns islands, visiting during a shoulder season, or booking one of the epic stays suggested here, will greatly enhance your experience. From whitewashed villas adorned with vibrant bougainvillea, suites with private pools looking over Santorini, to cave Airbnbs with breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea, here’s some of the best places to stay in Greece.
Is there a better month to feel a surge of travel spirit than September? As the summer holiday crush eases, Europe gets back to business and harvest time brings a bevy of the continent’s stellar produce to restaurant tables, from young wines to olives, Greek figs, British apples, Spanish almonds and so much more.
In 1966, Florence Knoll wanted some outdoor furniture for her Florida home. Little did she realize that she was facilitating one of the key leisure inventions of the 20th century. The sun lounger.
