If you've used an AirTag for less than a year to track your luggage, you may not realize that the original AirTag battery only lasts for roughly one year.
In the same way that you can replace your iPhone battery, you can also replace your AirTag battery when it dies.
When your battery is on the brink of death, Apple will notify you via the FindMy app if you've connected your AirTag within the app. You can also proactively check the battery length within the app by opening the app and identifying your AirTag under the "Items" tab at the bottom.
Instead of replacing the AirTag itself when the time comes, you can replace the battery for less money. Then, you can continue using the AirTag. According to Apple, you should look for a CR2032 lithium 3-volt coin battery that states "Compatible with Apple AirTag."
Compatible batteries include the Panasonic CR2032 and Energizer CR2032 batteries, both of which are currently available on Amazon for $8 (for a pack of 10 and six, respectively). You can also find compatible batteries at most electronics stores and drugstores, per Apple.
If you can't find a battery in time or would prefer to replace your AirTag, one tag costs $28. Or, you can get a four-pack for $80. Also, we routinely see AirTags on sale.
Otherwise, if you know you've had your AirTag for roughly a year, consider purchasing a pack of replacement batteries for less than $10.

That’s all well and good, but as they say: There’s no time like the present. All across the vast United States lie innumerable opportunities to fulfill a childhood—or adulthood—dream, to experience the country in all its splendor, whether rural or urban, culinary or cultural, educational or just plain ol’ fun. At Condé Nast Traveler, we spend our days learning and writing about the best experience all 50 states have to offer—this is our ultimate wish list.
When I started traveling, I came to realize just how different Buenos Aires was from other literary cities. Maybe we all have similar thoughts about our hometowns, or maybe my revelation is just one more confirmation of the arrogance for which we — people raised in the port city of Buenos Aires — are famous throughout the rest of Latin America.
About 10,000 hotel workers walked off of their jobs over the weekend, one of the busiest travel weekends of the year, due to unresolved contract negotiations. Members of the UNITE HERE union are asking for “higher wages, fair staffing and workloads, and the reversal of COVID-era cuts.” Many workers live paycheck to paycheck, and their pay does not cover the cost of living.
Hogging deck chairs, hanging clothing on balconies, and acting like influencers — these are some of the most annoying things people do on cruises, said Don Bucolo.
Regardless of how much someone is enjoying their vacation, it’s common for travelers to yearn for home at some point while out of town, especially the comfort of their own beds. It’s a sentiment I can usually relate to, but when my husband and I returned from our recent two-month honeymoon, I found myself excited to be back, yet less than thrilled about the bedroom that awaited us.

Melissa Dewalt caught the travel bug a decade ago when she drove from her home state of Pennsylvania across the country to California to visit her then-boyfriend. She then road-tripped north to Seattle.
