Australia’s award-winning expedition travel company, Aurora Expeditions, has announced that its voyagers now have access to enhanced connectivity following the rollout of Space X’s Starlink aboard two of its purpose-built ships, the Greg Mortimer and Sylvia Earle.
The complimentary service is now available in all cabins and public spaces aboard these two vessels, allowing passengers to connect with friends and family at home, catch up with the latest news or their work, even in the most remote environments.
“Reliable and high-speed internet connectivity in the cruise industry has traditionally been a challenge, particularly for expedition operators in places like Antarctica and the Arctic,” said Michael Heath, Chief Executive Officer at Aurora Expeditions.
He added that "while our ships are designed to be a comfortable base camp for adventure and we encourage our passengers to get out and explore the natural environment as much as possible, we understand that staying connected is important to them."
"We’re thrilled to continue to offer cutting-edge technological innovations to meet the needs of our expeditions, and we have already received incredibly positive feedback regarding the onboard experience."
A pioneer of experiential travel for over 32 years, Aurora Expeditions offers voyages to some of the wildest and most remote destinations on the planet. Passengers booking their travels before October 31, 2023, will find offers to choose from across dozens of sailings, including air credits and no solo supplements.

If Cappadocia, Turkey had an official postcard, it’d likely be the rainbow of hot air balloons floating above its conical “fairy chimney” rock formations at sunrise when the sky is tinted pink. Most mornings, roughly 150 to 200 hot air balloons ascend above the wildly unique landscape in Göreme National Park, which becomes a popular spot for photographers, too.

Several blocks away from The Dolli in Athens’ central Plaka, visitors encounter the ruins of Hadrian’s Library and the Roman Agora before climbing the hill up to the Acropolis. Guests of The Dolli, though, have an easier time if they want a glimpse of the Parthenon’s splendor: they can take a table at the rooftop restaurant or sit in or by the infinity pool, both with straight on views of this iconic temple. It’s one reason to stay at this new boutique hotel, a part of Grecotel Hotels & Resorts, which opened officially in January and one reason owner Mari Daskalantonaki selected this site. But it’s not the only advantage of being in residence here.
