Award-winning Somebody Feed Phil—the delectably illuminating food-travel show hosted by big-hearted, energetic funnyman Phil Rosenthal on Netflix—premieres its 7th season on March 1. The series’ eight new episodes spotlight Dubai, Mumbai, Kyoto, Taipei, Washington D.C., Orlando (with a twist), Scotland and Iceland. Rosenthal’s TV career is rooted in comedy. He was the creator, writer, executive producer and showrunner of the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, starring comedian Ray Romano, which ran for nine seasons on CBS. These days, Rosenthal’s well-fed, globetrotting gallops have inspired an enormous fan following. Rosenthal and I recently sat down to dish up behind-the-scenes scoops, sentiments and surprises about the new season. (Stay tuned for my upcoming Forbes review of Somebody Feed Phil.)
Laura Manske: What would you most like to tell Forbes readers right now?
Phil Rosenthal: I have a feeling, because of COVID, that they already know the message. We have a limited amount of time. Time can be taken from you…like that! So if you are able, travel now. I feel like the world has been returned to us. Live life while you can. It is not a new message, but doesn’t it hit home a lot harder because of COVID?
Manske: In addition to traveling and filming, you’ve spent the last year or so meeting thousands of people, especially on your ambitious An Evening With Phil Rosenthal of Somebody Feed Phil Live Nation Entertainment Tour, during which you speak, in theaters and similar stages, to American and European audiences about your passions: travel, food, family. A whirlwind new set of dates and tickets for 2024 just went on sale. Your Somebody Feed Phil: The Bookbecame a New York Times bestseller in 2022. Just Try It!, your new children’s book, written with your daughter, Lily Rosenthal, will be published by Simon & Schuster in March. And your weekly Naked Lunch with David Wild Apple podcast (now nearly 100 episodes) is engaging; its listeners join you at a dining table surrounded by a changing cast of fascinating friends, many of whom are well known. An action-packed schedule. Yet you always seem genuinely happy to encourage your audience’s happiness. At this point in your on-the-go-go-go marathon, how do you keep yourself centered and balanced, even when others want a slice of you?
Rosenthal: It has never been a burden and it is still not a burden. I’m an older guy. I have not been famous my whole life. My joke is: It’s amazing to wake up at this age and suddenly find myself Harry Styles! Ha! This is only a nice experience. People are only nice to me. It never bothers me when they come up to me. It never bothers me when they write to me or ask me questions. It is only nice, very loving and sweet.

The Olivier Award winning new production of Cabaret, Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, a transfer from London's West End, is projected to be one of the hottest shows on Broadway when it opens in April. What that means: getting tickets is not going to be easy but one of the best ways to achieve that could be through the Broadway VIP Experience also launching that month at the Mandarin Oriental, New York. With a two night stay, this promotion includes two prime orchestra seats, a meet and greet with a starring cast member at the MO Lounge and a special gift from the show to take home.
Admittedly travel-averse, Eugene Levy—multiple award-winning actor, writer and comedian—has come a very long way since his debut season of Apple TV+’s The Reluctant Traveler last year. Now premiering a second season on March 8, the seven-episode series spotlights Sweden, Scotland, France, Germany, Italy, Greece and Spain. It is gorgeously filmed, tightly edited, uplifting and funny: A luxurious travel deep-dive that soars with insight and smiles. Levy’s wry humor is on-point entertaining.
