The Kenya Tourism Board has launched a marketing campaign in India. Under the campaign, the tourism board will provide travel agents with incentives to promote Kenya as a tourism destination to the Indian travelers. 

Hotel developer Chalet Hotels has announced that it is in the process of acquiring Courtyard by Marriott Aravali Resort. The 158-key resort, located near Delhi, is under the ownership of Ayushi and Poonam estates. It has been operational since June 2022. 

Online travel agency Cleartrip has announced that its travel agent partners increased by 40% in 2023 as compared to 2022. The company’s business-to-business platform Agentbox 2.0 recorded four times higher volume of business in 2023 than the previous year, it added. 

The pan-India premium hotel occupancy is estimated to reach decade highs of 70-72% in the coming fiscal year (2025), according to credit rating agency ICRA. The agency has also estimated that the Indian hotel industry will report revenue growth of 7-9% in 2024-2025. For the financial year ending on March 31, 2024, ICRA is expecting the industry revenue to grow 14-16%. 

Online travel agency MakeMyTrip has announced a collaboration with the Government of Goa that will promote the coastal state as a year-round travel destination with more than just iconic beaches. The state has launched measures that would highlight Goa’s inland destinations.

Radisson Hotel Group significantly expanded its presence in India last year with the signing of 21 hotels. During the year, the group signed the debut Radisson Collection hotels in the country, with three properties under the brand in the pipeline.

EaseMyTrip.com has entered the hospitality market with the announcement of a five-star hotel in Ayodhya. The online travel agency is investing up to INR 1 billion ($12 million) in the project through a joint venture with Jeewani Hospitality. Nishant Pitti, CEO and co-founder, EaseMyTrip, said that since January 22, more than 2.4 million visitors have gone to the pilgrimage city. This, he said, indicates a significant business opportunity.

Online travel agency MakeMyTrip has announced the launch of ‘Business Class Funnel’ for international flights, with the aim of enhancing the booking experience of first- and business-class travelers. According to a statement, the product will provide travelers with a centralized platform to access information regarding the premium experiences, such as seat recline, meals, and in-flight entertainment, that they would be getting in return for the increased prices for first- and business-class tickets. 

Flipkart-owned online travel company Cleartrip has launched ‘Out of Office’, a corporate travel management product. The product launch comes against the backdrop of Cleartrip’s aim to focus primarily with corporate booking travel.

Indian airlines inducted 112 aircraft in 2023, according to the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation. The ministry added that with this, the total number of aircraft in the fleets of scheduled airline operators stood at 771 as on December 31, 2023.
