What is likely the most anticipated attraction opening at Disney World in 2024, Tiana's Bayou Adventure, now has an opening date ... and it's sooner than originally announced!
Tiana's Bayou Adventure, replacing the Splash Mountain attraction in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, will open in the summer of 2024. It was originally announced to open in late 2024, so this is months earlier than anticipated.
The log flume ride — and its five-story drop — will remain, but the theme, setting and story of the ride when it reopens in a few months will all be new. The ride's new storyline takes place after "The Princess and the Frog" movie.

Disney shares that it will be set during Mardi Gras season and that guests can expect a bayou full of music, magic and new friends, including a raccoon, rabbit and beaver. There will also be popular characters from the film in the form of all-new animatronics that will be voiced by the stars that brought them to life, including Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana.
It is also confirmed that there will be all-new music and some hits from "The Princess and the Frog."
A final fun detail Disney shared is that there will be a scent of frying beignets in the attraction's queue, which seems only appropriate for the French Quarter setting.
The former Splash Mountain attraction at Disneyland in California is also currently closed and transforming into Tiana's Bayou Adventure on the West Coast. Disney shares that the project's opening timeline in Anaheim is "later in 2024." That means those looking to step into Tiana's world as soon as possible should target a trip to Disney World in Florida as we are "almost there" to summer 2024 when we can first float down the bayou.

The Indian Wells Open is my favorite U.S. tennis event, bar none. The Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa is a stone’s throw from the venue, and its beautiful desert grounds are a welcoming respite from the throngs trying to get a glimpse of Rafa (who will play on the evening of March 7th). Why is Indian Wells so special? There’s a paradoxical mellow and electric vibe there. A short drive from Palm Springs, California and set in the comparatively verdant Colorado Desert, it’s a place for meditation, introspection, self-care — and world-class tennis. The Indian Wells Open, AKA the BNP Paribas Open (BNP Paribas sponsors the event) is the most popular tennis event in the world aside from the four major slams, but the venue, Indian Wells Tennis Garden (owned by Larry Ellison since 2009), is so nicely designed that it never feels as crowded as it is. Food options are remarkably good (think Nobu sushi), and VIP and corporate boxes are close enough to the action (unlike at many venues) with excellent catering and service.
A visit to the “happiest place on Earth” will soon be more expensive. Walt Disney World recently released ticket availability through Oct. 31, 2025, and the lowest price for a single park, one-day visit, has increased from $109 to $119. (Disney hasn't raised prices at its flagship resort in Orlando, Florida, since December 2022, reported USA Today.) According to Disney’s ticket price calendar, the last day visitors can visit a park for the $109 rate is Sept. 26, 2024. Travel + Leisure spotted some of the highest one-day tickets for the Magic Kingdom at $184 for a visit to 2025 on the Disney calendar. For the «Park Hopper'' ticket, which provides access to multiple parks in one day, the cost is $247.
