As a travel writer who’s on the road for half of the year, there’s one thing I always prioritize: having TSA-friendly versions of my skincare regimen, from cleansing oil to sunscreen, ready to go at all times.
Like exercising or eating more plant-based foods, caring for my skin is a non-negotiable. Though I’m pleased as punch with my routine, even the best products have their limitations. So what’s a forty-something woman who’s interested in rejuvenating her complexion, not ready for Botox and dermal fillers, and rarely at home supposed to do?
Enter Skin Laundry. Established in California in 2013, the company that’s expanded globally to over 50 locations worldwide exists for a simple reason: “Everyone deserves healthy, radiant skin and the confidence that comes with it,” explains Dr. Roberta Del Campo, Skin Laundry’s Medical Director. And how the groundbreaking company makes this a reality is just as straightforward. Every location, whether you’re at Los Angeles or London, offers the same menu of, in Del Campo’s words, “laser- and energy-based treatments that are developed by dermatologists, safe and effective for all skin types and tones, and address a wide variety of chronic skin concerns.” Even better? All treatments are performed under 30 minutes by highly trained medical staff, yield visible results with minimal or no downtime, and are easy to reserve online at any location—this comes in especially handy if you travel as much as I do.
Skin Laundry’s claim to fame, the Signature Laser Facial—you can try it out for an introductory price of $75—takes only 15 minutes and consists of an Nd:YAG laser that “delivers high energy, infrared light beneath the skin’s surface to precisely and painlessly correct and prevent breakouts,” comments Del Campo. As someone who’s tried out gobs of nonsurgical cosmetic procedures (eMatrix, Ultherapy, Vbeam), I found the session totally comfortable and marveled how super-fresh (and not the least bit red) my skin appeared afterwards. Though I’d happily recommend the Signature Laser Facial to laser newbies or people seeking a more subtle glow up, I knew my skin could handle more.
It was Skin Laundry’s most powerful offering, the Power Duo Facial, that got me hooked. The thirty-minute treatment starts with the Power Signature Facial, which delivers twice the power the Signature Laser, and is followed by the Thermo Fractional Facial. Del Campo says the cutting-edge technology enlisting a heated titanium tip with tiny gridded points “stimulates the production of collagen, increases skin cell turnover, and creates microchannels that enable greater absorption of products for smoother and healthier skin.”
While I found the Power Signature portion to be as comfortable as the

Cabo San Lucas is experiencing massive growth as historic tourism numbers climb. “Do you need someone to carry your bags?”
In the smash new Broadway show Gutenberg! The Musical!, actor Josh Gad reteams with Andrew Rannells, with whom he had undeniable chemistry on stage a decade ago in The Book of Mormon. So where would they travel together, if given the chance? “We would have to go to Uganda,” Gad laughs, referring to their Mormon characters’ journey to eastern Africa. “You’d see how similar we are in real life to Elder Cunningham and Elder Price. It would potentially be both disastrous and life-changing—actually, a great documentary!”
Though I’ve visited Portland, Oregon, so many times I’ve lost count, I won’t soon be forgetting my last trip thanks to a new downtown hotel.
