TURKU, FINLAND – The Latvian airline airBaltic celebrates 15 years of continuous operations in Turku, Finland. Over the years, the airline has consistently connected the Finnish city with the Latvian capital through daily service. This provides customers with seamless connections to airBaltic’s extensive network and the rest of the world via its 24 codeshare partners.
Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic: “Finland is one of our home markets, and we are pleased to celebrate this milestone. Over the years, we have observed passenger growth on this route and are dedicated to offer our customers a wide range of travel options with a one-stop connection through airBaltic’s home base. We are grateful to our partners, Turku Airport and Finavia, for their strong cooperation throughout these years and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future.”
Petri Vuori, Finavia’s SVP for Sales & Route Development, added: “We’re delighted to congratulate airBaltic on this huge milestone! The Riga route has been very important for Turku Airport and for the area’s connectivity to Europe as a whole. I’d like to thank airBaltic for the great cooperation over the years.”
Since the airline’s first flight on this route on July 9, 2009, airBaltic has carried nearly 400,000 passengers and performed over 8,000 flights between the two cities.
