Avelo Airlines has unveiled three new routes which will see the budget carrier double down on one of its crew bases and add a new destination to its route map.
The ultra-low-cost carrier, which commenced operations in 2021, will launch a new route this spring from North Carolina's capital region to New York's.
Starting in May, the carrier will fly twice a week from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) to Albany International Airport (ALB).

Meanwhile, it's also adding two new routes from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) in South Carolina: one to western New York and another to New England.
Avelo's Albany service from Raleigh-Durham launches May 10 and will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.
It's just the latest new route for the carrier at RDU, where it launched a crew base one year ago Thursday. Today, Avelo has 90 Raleigh-based employees and, since opening the base, has added a second Boeing 737 aircraft to the mix there.
As of May, Avelo will fly between RDU and a total of four airports across New England, New York and Florida, as shown by aviation analytics firm Cirium.
Per Cirium, Avelo actually served six Florida cities from the airport a year prior, in May 2023.
Meanwhile, Avelo's arrival in Albany will give the airport a second ultra-low-cost carrier.
Today, Albany travelers only have budget airline service aboard competitor Allegiant Air, to a handful of popular leisure destinations.
Avelo's other two routes announced Wednesday originate from the Greenville-Spartanburg metro area in South Carolina.
Starting in May, the carrier will fly nonstop to Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) and to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) in New Hampshire — the latter about 55 miles from Boston.
This will be the second Avelo destination for both Rochester and Manchester — with the other, for each city, being RDU.
Avelo's Greenville-to-Rochester service kicks off May 9 with twice weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays.
Its Greenville-to-Manchester service launches May 10, with twice-weekly options on Mondays and Fridays.
