The Easter holidays are rapidly approaching and if you're looking to book a break, it could be the perfect time for a train adventure. 

Switzerland is one powerful place. While Zurich is arguably where the money of the world is kept, Geneva is where the peace of the world is kept. As the European headquarters of the United Nations, Geneva is home to 175 representations along with 250 international non-governmental organizations, the host city of more than 173,000 diplomats, delegates, and world thinkers every year. That’s nearly more people than the city of Geneva counts as residents.

Although the birth of luxury timepieces are often associated with Geneva and Basel, the cradle of Swiss watchmaking lies deep in Switzerland’s Jura Mountains. Since 1748, the postcard-worthy Vallée de Joux has been the birthplace of world-renowned watch brands, including Audemars Piguet, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and David Candaux. 

From the high point in Pays de Gex, sun illuminates the flatlands and the blue waters of Lac Léman stretch into the distance. We’re in the realms of the Haute Chaîne du Jura, a national nature reserve where lynx and wolves wander and the mountain towns among the peaks offer far more than downhill skiing.

Vail Resorts, Inc has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Crans-Montana Mountain Resort in Switzerland from CPI Property Group (“CPIPG”). Crans-Montana Mountain Resort spans over 1,400 meters (approximately 4,593 ft) of skiable vertical terrain, and 140 kilometers (approximately 87 mi) of trails. Accessible from five airports and by train, Crans-Montana Mountain Resort is located in the Valais canton of Switzerland, approximately two and a half hours from Geneva and less than four hours from Milan and Zurich. The resort is two and a half hours away from the company’s other owned and operated European resort in Andermatt-Sedrun.
