On May 24, United will begin a new flight route to Portugal's southernmost city: Faro, the airline announced on Thursday. The new route, departing from Newark Liberty International Airport, will operate four times a week to give travelers the opportunity to visit Faro — a destination Travel + Leisure has referred to as the «California of Europe.

With the new schedule, and resuming several of the routes mentioned, United noted they will fly more flights across the Atlantic Ocean than any other air carrier in the world.
In addition to all of the flights to Europe, United also shared they are increasing flights over the Pacific Ocean as well, including new routes from San Francisco to Manila and Beijing.
