airBaltic passengers up 7% in June, new records in Lithuania and Estonia

In June 2024, airBaltic saw a 7% increase in passengers and performed 4,400 flights, with record highs at its Lithuanian and Estonian bases.

RIGA – During June 2024, the Latvian national airline airBaltic carried 488,200 passengers, marking a 7% increase, compared to the same period last year. In the previous month, airBaltic performed 4 400 flights, representing a 5% climb from June 2023. Notably, June set new passenger records at airBaltic bases in Lithuania and Estonia, with impressive increases of 15% and 11%, reaching 73 000 and 83 000 passengers respectively. These are the highest passenger numbers ever recorded in June for both bases.

Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic said: “We continue to see a positive trend in passenger numbers, with more people choosing airBaltic as their preferred airline. The launch of 15 new routes at the beginning of the summer flights season in May, including destinations in Southeast Europe, has significantly contributed to this growth. “During the upcoming months, we plan to continue expanding our network by launching new pop-up and scheduled flights, continuing operations from our seasonal base in Gran Canaria, as well as launching direct winter season flights to unique new destinations – Madeira, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, and Innsbruck. These developments as part of our strategy are expected to further boost our traffic across the Baltic region and beyond,” Gauss added.
