Travelers looking to book a last minute summer or fall getaway have a new option to score a flight deal.  Frontier Airlines, a low-cost carrier based in Denver, has extended a recentfare sale, with flights starting as low as $19 one-way, plus fees. Denver is one of the fastest growing cities in the US, a one-time "cow town" turned Rocky Mountain powerhouse. At the core sits LoDo, the city’s oldest neighborhood with historic buildings, boutique shopping and some of Denver’s best hotels. Glacier National Park is one of the most gorgeous parks in the national park system. The park has gorgeous day hikes running between half a mile or 20 miles, and some of the best backcountry backpacking in the US. Six days of bad weather, especially at hub airports, has kept myriad travelers from reaching their destination this week. According to FlightAware, a website that tracks delays and cancellations, more than 8,000 U.S. flights have been axed since Saturday, June 24, and an additional 30,000-plus were delayed.

When I first moved to Denver, I came on a whim – my only experience of the city was a brief weekend during a cross-country road trip. But after bouncing from coast to coast and across the southern border for years, I figured Denver would be a good place for a short-term stint.
