Finding a great flight deal often involves diligently tracking and setting price alerts, comparing miles or points programs, signing up for new credit cards, flying out of an inconvenient airport at an inconvenient time, and more.

At the vertiginous edge of a rock face, I find a wooden chair and sit down. Below, a creek snakes its way downstream. Ahead, an impenetrable tangle of pine forest that's home to all manner of bird and beast. It's not hard to understand what drew director Francis Ford Coppola to this cinematic corner of western Belize, where in 1981 he bought a derelict hunting lodge. It soon became a family retreat and later, Blancaneaux Lodge, a 20-room hideaway loved by in-the-know adventure seekers.

Before Carmel-by-the-Sea became known for its wealthy retirees, tony golf courses, and upscale resorts, it was a bohemian hot spot. More than a century ago, poets, artists, and writers—including Jack London, Salvador Dalí, and Mary Hunter Austin—decamped to the charming hamlet, today beloved for its cottage-lined cobblestone streets and picturesque stretch of coastline. Some were fleeing San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake, while others just wanted to commune with like-minded freethinkers. A bit of that creative spirit has blown back into the one-square-mile town these past few years, driven by an influx of 30-and 40-somethings who have arrived to start businesses—drawn, like their predecessors, by the beauty of nature and the quality of life here. The result: a host of fresh restaurants and boutique hotels that are making Carmel more dynamic than it's been in years.

Winter weather can be a threat to holiday travel plans, though new data reveals that certain airports and airlines are more prone to delays than others.

As the temperatures fall, so are airfare prices. Frontier Airlines is running its «Full Size Sale», which provides fares as low as $19 to destinations around the United States. Best of all, the flights can be booked five days of the week, whereas previous promotions from Frontier have been more limited in date availability.  The sale ends on October 31, 2024 at 11:59pm EST, however tickets can be purchased for travel through February 26, 2025. Five new long-distance domestic flights are coming to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).

There are now millions of reasons to book your next vacation. Frontier Airlines recently announced a new fare sale that discounts over two million seats on the airline, with tickets as low as $19. Described as the airline's «biggest sale of the year», the promotion offers travelers deals to popular destinations such as Atlanta, Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando, and more.  The sale is valid on travel for select days throughout December 18, 2024, and ends at 11:59pm EST on October 17, 2024. Travelers should carefully review the sale's terms and conditions, as there are several restrictions of when and where travelers can get the discounted tickets. For example, most fares are only valid on flights Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday.  The $19 promotional fare is only available to members of Frontier's Discount Den program, which costs $59 a year and includes perks such as access to special sales, and free flights for children.
