Joshua Tree National Park is holding a literal star-studded event in the fall, and tickets are on sale now. The annual Night Sky Festival will take place on Oct. 4 and Oct. 5 at the Sky's The Limit Observatory located on Utah Trail 29 in Palms CA — just .1 miles from Joshua Tree's North Entrance Station.

I've had the opportunity to ski at over 20 resorts across the United States, and five of them were located in Utah.

November: What a month — especially this one. There was a lot to get through between the election, the start of the holiday season, the time change and, at least, for those who love and support me and my fellow TPG hotel reporter Cameron Sperance, two Scorpio birthdays.

Utah's tagline, "The Greatest Snow on Earth," isn't just a marketing ploy — the state really does have some of the world's most sought-after powder, making it a skier's paradise and pulling nearly 7 million visits to its 15 resorts each year. And at the heart of it all is the state's capital, Salt Lake City.

Few things in life are better than getting a great gift from someone you care about — especially when it's the gift of travel. Travel is a gift that keeps on giving and lasts way longer than expensive skin care products or kitchen gadgets that end up untouched in a random drawer. In fact, a recent survey from Hyatt found that 85% of consumers would rather receive a trip or vacation than a physical gift this holiday season.

If you’ve experienced Utah's best skiing before and are in on the now not-so-secret handshake, you know that some of best skiing in the world is only 45 minutes away from Salt Lake City International Airport. The position of park ranger, especially in our national parks, has always been one of authority. There’s the uniform for one thing, which changes with the seasons and weather and varies from park to park, but is invariably best worn ironed with the shirt tucked in. And then there’s the knowledge of the land they maintain, and how best to appreciate and interact with it. As tourists continue to behave moronically, that latter duty becomes an especially serious, potentially punitive one. Which is why, in part, the park rangers have taken their talents online.

The holiday season is nearly upon us, which means it's time to book those flights to see your parents, in-laws, siblings, family, friends, or even that solo getaway you so desperately need at the end of the year. But before you do, make sure to consider all your flight options because some airports are simply better than others for holiday travelers.  To help you find the right ones, MarketWatch conducted a survey of 3,000 Americans to learn more about their holiday travel habits. The team found that 61 percent of respondents plan to travel this holiday season, 36 percent intend to fly for the holidays, and they expect to pay an average of $1,869 on holiday air travel.
